| Eye question...(?) Hi there. I have 5 pups and one has one eye open as of today. I am curious about the coloring of the eye though. Is there a white-ish or opaque film on top that is normal? I am concerned for a certain reason, this particular pup got a drop of adhesive remover that my vet gave me to take off a bandage from her dew claw removal and it got on that side of her face that day. It was more than a week ago, and I just whiped off the excess that day and didn't give it any more thought. It is the only eye open from the whole litter so far, so I have nothing to compare to. I really hope this is normal.

| Hi Rosiegirl if i am remembering correctly your babies were born a few days after mine april 1 and i noticed this morning that one had her eyes open so it may be that yours are just now beginning. I wouldn't be to concerned yet it seems like they open closer to 3 wks Betty & Micah my love |

| Thanks, I am just worried about if that color is normal. She is the biggest pup I have, so I am not worried about them being open, just the color....

| The vet said just to make sure it is cleaned and to wait and watch it. I would just like to see the other eye when it opens to compare them. Thanks for the help

| Do you have any Terramycin or will your vet prescribe it. I usually keep it on hand.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | This is what I tried to explain in my PM. If they look like this , this is completely NORMAL. This is a pic of one of my 2 week old pups from a litter last year. |

| Yeah, I think that's just what I am seeing, go figure that the first eye I see ever is the one that I was concerned about, they do look funny, like they might have a blindness or something, don't they? I really appreciate the pic, i really was worried that our only little girl in the bunch may be blind in one eye! I guess there is still a possibility that she could have a problem but I feel much more comfortable knowing that they all look like that at the beginning. Yesterday my heart started pounding so fast when I saw she had a white-ish eye film on there, I was immediately thinking she was having a problem. Thanks! I will update the thread today or tomarrow when I can see the other eyes to compare just to be sure.
