| sorry i haven't been on for a while i washed my mom the next day. Some say to wait 24-48 hours after whelping. My mom retained 2 placentas till i got her an oxytocin injection 24 hours after delivery. So she was a mess with this last litter so after she got the injection i would have to say with in the hour the 2 placentas expelled them selves and she needed the bath badly. The disharge was a dark bluish black and it was disgusting. I didn't let her wade in alot of water i mainly sprayed her off and washed only the back of her with soap. And i used sparingly a conditioner, i had cut her hair down short anyway. |
