Honestly, her adult dogs don't look like what I'd consider breeding stock. I'm certainly no expert, but a curly coat is not something to be bred for, and most of her dogs have that. What do I know, though? The prices seem awfully high as well, for pups that are not champion sired. Just my humble opinion

Oh my goodness. This is one of the most reputable dog breeder in this nation. She has imports as she was not satisfied with yorkies that were not the best. I read that mess, and is some foreign person trying to use extortion. I bought Shasta from Tanoe a few months ago, and she is just wonderful. I will try to post some pics. I had no problem whatsoever, and as a matter of fact the process of getting Shasta here was complicated by Tanoe checking me out to make sure I was bringing the puppy to a safe and good environment. I am surprised she didn't check out that lady more carefully. I plan in the future to possibly get a male from her. Totally trust.

That is what I was thinking too. Coats that look almost tri-colored, curly coats, colors spreading out of the areas they should be in, black intermingled in the tan areas .... not what you would think of seeing for $2000.

What causes that 3 color look, where the black on the back goes only so far and then it is silver the rest of the way to the tail? I saw that once before and wondered then too.

I would have been pretty upset if a breeder had initially told me to send a sick, infected puppy with Grade 3 LP back and wait for her to resell it before getting my money back. If that is really how it went down, then I too would be leery about getting my money back after the fact. I would want it up front too. There are always two sides to these disputes, but I think breeders need to be very accomodating to the buyer with any deal that shows these sort of medical problems within the first 48 hours.

I noticed that to and she also calls one of the curly coated ones a silky???? I see we have newbies here to defend again. Why is it every time someone posts a bad review on a breeder these people show up out of nowhere?

just wanted to thank you all for help. we meet with a breeder today and i think we have found a wonderful breeder to go with. her litter is not due for another 3 weeks, but she let us meet the parents and she had a puppy she kept back from a previous litter and she was precious. she gave us tons of references and her vet spoke with us today to. we feel very comfortable with her. i am trying to talk my husband into two puppies. i think they need playmates. i can travel with two as easy as one. this has been a long process for us, but we know it will be worth it in the end. i have been doing more research on tanoe reed and have found she has went by three different names for her dogs. the latest being BABYDOLL FACES on puppyfind. i would like to know why a breeder would use all the different names? RHYTHM AND BLUE, BLUE MONDAY EXCLUSIVES AND BABYDOLL FACES NOW. i would tell anyone lookinng for a puppy to do a google search on the breeder before any money is exchanged. thanks and i will keep you all updated on my new baby and maybe two babies. cannot wait to share pictures with you guys.

Oh good luck!!! I hope that you can get two, so they have each other. Just think of the fun of watching them play Of course, it's double the vet/groomer costs, etc. but if you can do it, that's great!

I don't trust the name changing either, it's like they have had complaints or something under the business name, so they just change it Glad you dodged that bullet!

Default Tanoe reed

Hi,

I'm the buyer who posted all the reviews of Tanoe on Ripoff Report. Everything I've said is true. I still have the puppy, because Tanoe stopped taking my e-mails. I didn't know she was now going by another name. The puppy still has the grade 3 LP, and still has coccidia. On her second round of Albon to treat.

Also, be wary! This puppy sheds! And she is "supposedly" a pure bred Maltese.

I would just like to say... I had bought a small yorkie..he is now 4 pounds.. not from this breeder but to let you know things happen.. first off I think you should have taken this puppy to a good vet right away.. if then this puppy had grade 3 LP you could have returned the puppy.. at this stage people are not at the point where they can no longer live without them.,,
My little yorkie had no Lp.. but after leaving him in two 3x5 crates together with plenty of room for a 1.7 pound yorkie puppie to play, go potty and a place to sleep while I was at the doctor... but my BIL thought he would take him outside and let him run up and down the steps from the deck.. well guess what.. yes he has LP..
What people do not understand is when they get such a small puppie they must not let them jump on their back legs and climb and jump off furniture.. many people do.. they just do not think... and if you are the only person that has gotten a dog from this breeder that has a problem, I would find that quite strange.. and from what I am reading this breeder normally checks out who gets her puppies and obviously did not check you out.. I am hearing you can take the dog back.. and yes if it is such a huge problem then by all means this is what you should do.. It is known that people have taken a dog back and gotten a new puppie for the simple reason that they just did not want to deal with it..
I think one person can ruin a good breeders name so easily.. and many need to try breeding.. it is not as easy as one may think...
and I am not a newbie coming out of the woodwork..anne

Default My great experience with Tanoe!

I am SO sad to see this thread. My little girl Zsa Zsa comes from the Breeder Tanoe, and to see her bashed like this - when she has to be one of the most reputable, Breeders I have ever met, in my 25 years of owning and loving Yorkies. I am not a breeder myself, just a true, besotted lover of Yorkies in general, have always researched very thoroughly before adopting any baby. My experience with Tanoe was perfect, my Zsa Zsa is beautiful, out of champion lines - her Sire is (imported) out of Devils of York Ranger, Devils of York Shakira, her Dam out of an Imported German champion

You are so right that one bad review can ruin the name of an outstanding breeder. I have a friend who is a small breeder of beautiful Yorkies. Her Dam was unknowingly exposed to another female with Coccidia. Thankfully, THIS breeder could defend her good name in time, that the person who adopted one of these pups understood perfectly how this could happen, and the matter was handled between the two of them. The outcome was that the baby actually stayed in her new Forever home, and is now thriving, happy and healthy.

If these aren't show dogs, then I don't know what is. They are the line my little girl comes out of:

You can find them on the Devils of York Website.

Thank you!!! My experience with Tanoe was obviously the same as yours! Tanoe also put me through an extemely rigorous "checking up" to ensure that her pup was going to a good home. She is in W Virginia, I am in S California. My Husband flew there in person to pick up our baby. He was blown away by Tanoe, and her whole breeding practice. Here are two recent pictures of my girl; she will be a year in June. I only adopted her this past Feb:

The one below was taken at the airport, after a full day of flying on the way home to me, many delays because of bad weather back East, and just look at how gorgeous my little Angel still looks, after all that time!

Look at this coat at only 9 months of age!

I cannot stress what a "clean" program Tanoe runs, and how deeply distressed I am to see her reputation sullied this way.
Thanks!
Lauren

Well as you can see, I am certainly no newbie here. I wanted to mention as well, that I do have another friend who also adopted a Yorkie Make from Tanoe in March. He is out of the same Sire as my Zsa Zsa, different Dam. He is equally beautiful; Tanoe put her through the same detailed vetting before allowing this boy to go to his new forever home. She two came from another state, actually drove to W Virginia to pick up her pup, met Tanoe in person as well. Her experience with Tanoe, she described as one of her best in all of the 25+ years of owning and loving Yorkies.....(she is as besotted as I am when we come to our babies).

I should also say here that I do have all health records, a years guarantee against genetic defects, etc. Tanoe even went so far as to discuss in detail her concerns about over vaccinating, spaying with just the RIGHT type of Anasthesia, the ideal weight she would like my girl to be before undergoing such a procedure. She did everything and anything to ensure my Zsa Zsa would stay healthy long after she arrived in my home.

Please excuse me going on and on, but I really admire this lady; my experience with her was such a positive one....I spoke countless times with her on the phone, and I just hate to see her name maligned by anyone without actual FACTS, or having dealt with her in person. She is not here to defend herself.

Lastly, Barbie/Gibbs - whomever you select as your Breeder, I wish you nothing but absolute joy with your new baby. I am just sorry that you would deny yourself one of Tanoe's magnificent Yorkies!

Thanks again!
Lauren

Oooh! I forgot!! I have a pic of Muesly, Sire to my girl and my friend's male Pup, taken when he was 7 months old, almost the same age as my Zsa Zsa when I brought her home:

A Muesly7months2.jpg

You will find the same pic on the Devils of York website:
Devils Of York Yorkshire Terrier

Just click on the "Enter" button, and on the next page, you will see him, top right. Tanoe imported him directly from Hungary.

Default Unfortunate experience

I did take my Maltese to a reputable vet within 48 hours and that is when I received the grade 3 LP diagnosis.

If my puppy had checked out perfectly fine at that vet visit as it sounds like the previous posters' puppies had, what would I have to alert future buyers about?

I wanted to let others know how Tanoe responded when my puppy DID NOT check out fine.

As far as I know, my puppy was never seen by a vet before being released to me. She came LOADED with coccidia, the insides of her ears were so dirty the vet couldn't examine them, she had an obvious underbite which Tanoe never disclosed to me, her feet were stained dark yellow from very dark-colored urine that did not lighten up for about a week, and she had loose, bloody, mucous-laced stool.

But as I stated earlier, the biggest problem was the grade 3 luxating patella, which led my vet to fill out an "Unfit for Sale" form immediately.

There were a few other alarming revelations that I have not posted, but would be happy to share if anyone wishes to private message me.

was your puppy flown to you? If it was, it had to have been seen by a vet in order to get a health certificate to fly. I have to agree with the others. This is one of the most reputable breeders in the country.
