How exciting! :p Best wishes for a healthy delivery! |
millie laid on her side for most of the night with her back leg up occassionally, she must have had relief in this position, then she went to sleep for the night! day 65 from first tie. her temp as been 37.3 - 37.9 most of week.i think that is 99.1.this morning though she had no brekfast that unlike her she gone back to bed. hopefully she may carry off from where she left off. i will keep you informed, hopefully there be someone on if i any probs. I have researched all eventuallities, and wrote it all down on 4 sheets a4 papper, this breeding is scarey bussiness and i am 100 percent prepared, those who are not could end up with a disaster on there hands. |
No puppies yet huh? I am surprised then not....these girls (or should I say puppies) have a way of fooling us. Speaking of which, now it looks as though you may be having April Fools Day puppies..LOL Well darn, I have to go to work today so I might miss the actual whelp. You can bet I will sneak a peek here once or twice though for any updates. Good luck to you..........it is great to see that you've gotten yourself so prepared; good for you! |
Just checking in to see how millie is doing? Keep us posted! She should be getting close! |
Checking on Millie this morning, good luck to you both. |
hi, millie remains in her bed, its 1400hrs here, she has had nothing to eat, her temp has drop to 36.5, she has slight tremors. I have been making her whelp pudding, i hope she hangs on a little while longer my husband has a 400 mile journey to do to get home. I have rang my vets and got the on call number for tonight, they share it between a few of the practices. I will keep you updated, i still feel nervous thanks for all your support x |
I use to breed Golden Retrievers and their temp was such a positive guideline for me. My dam temp would drop to like 96. Not sure about Yorkies. But when they were getting close they had their temp taken in the AM and PM. I was mistaken in my previous post. Usually the temp drops quite a bit. They say you should always have a baseline temp on your furbaby. This way you can see the big drop when it happens. Like I said earlier, mine always whelped within 24 hours, give or take a few, once that big drop happened. |

I always had it on hand but it must be used with caution. I never used it to bring on labor though. |
Just checking in on you seeing how everything is coming along. Sounds like today may be your day! Good luck hope you have a smooth delivery. Stay calm, she will pick up on your feelings. |
good luck |
millie just got out her bed she was straining to have a poo! then it was hard and orange, she has had nothing to eat or drink for approx 20 hrs,she has had nothing different, is this any cause for concern? |
What I have read is that your female will poo several times as the puppies are moving through the birth canal. This is the time where you should get her to her quiet whelping place. So you both can relax a little if possible. You can give her a little nutrical to help between puppies, this will help Millie through. I will try to do my best to answer any questions. I have learned so much here on YT. I am having my first litter in May and we are all so very exited. Good luck!! |
Sounds like puppies are in your very near future. If possible, get little Millie to drink. She will need the fluids to help with milk production. |
I pray Millie has a safe whelping. Are you giving her any Nutri-cal? Twenty hours is a long time to go without food and water. It would really help her if you give her some Nutri-cal during her whelping. Try to get her to drink some water. It sounds like she is getting close. |
Exciting stuff! A puppy watch-here in England too! |
