I am nervous i may be keep disturb her but want to make sure she is ok. i have put her in whelp box but she goes back off to bed. Her heat mat and paper is in her whelp box. i am scared she squash pups in her bed, and she pulls the heat mat out of her bed and gets distressed, any ideas before labor starts, thanks again |

| She may be getting too hot. I would take out the heating pad and place it in a basket under a blanket. That way while she is having the puppies, you can keep them safe inside the basket so that she doesn't lay on it or step on it during the labor process. Then when everything is said and done, you can put them in with the mother and only have the heat pad on one side of the box under a blanket. That way she can get off of it if she is too hot. |

| I have gotten advise suggesting to let her be wherever she's most comfortable through her first part of labor and then when the pups come you can insist she go to her whelp box when she's delivering. My dog is the same way, she likes my bed. I planned on letting her stay there until she's in labor than you can take the bed away and she'll probably understand that's her spot. I was planning on putting down a protective layer so my bed doesn't get nasty, but to move her to her box when she get's going inot hard labor. I had planned on getting her used to her whelp box before hand but it only upsets her at this point, so since she's so spoiled I changed that plan. Good Luck, keep us posted!
