| Sooo confused!!! I've been waiting for Bebe's heat cycle because I'm planning on breeding her. She's been swollen for about a week now but haven't seen any blood yet. Last saturday they tied once then this week again. I've been watching her very closely for first signs of blood but she hasn't started yet. So why did they tie (sorry if this sounds stupid) but I thought they only tie when she's ready. This didn't happen last time I bred her - so I'm totally confused right now. This is second time we breed Bebe. I have families who have been waiting for awhile now because I didn't want to breed her right after the first time. I told them I wasn't breeding her for awhile and they decide to wait. Now I'm so worried because I don't know whats going on Thanks

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | If she's been swollen for "about a week", then she could be coming into the flagging stage. Or obviously she is, since they've tied. Maybe her cycle started before you noticed it and you missed the heavier bleeding and/or she's a light bleeder. Or maybe she has been keeping herself extra clean and you just didn't see the bleeding. It does get much lighter colored when it gets to the actual breeding time. Or, and I don't know too much about this, but could she be having a false heat? Not sure what that entails, but these are the things that come to my mind on what Bebe (and you) have been experiancing. Since they have had a couple of successful ties, you'll know in about 63 days whether she was in heat or not Good luck to you. Maybe someone else will have better and/or other answers for you.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I'm no expert, but to the best of my knowledge, the female will only accept the male when she is ready. You can have your vet palpitate her belly at about 28 days after the first tie to see if she is pregnant. Xrays I understand aren't accurate until like the last week of pregnancy. Unless you meant an ultrasound???? In any case, palpitation is surely much less expensive.

| Take her to vet And get a test to check for ovulation.....its some kind of smear....that should tell you if you missed it or if she has already ovualated. Thats is weird that you have not seen any blood though. good luck |
