| Whining pup My pups are eight weeks old and I have one who has become an extreme whiner. Can anyone tell me if they have had one and what they did for it? Is this just a stage they outgrow? I have lost two sales over this pups crying and I might even consider keeping her myself but I can't stand the whining either. I would appreciate any help in this!! |

| I would think that if the whinning is excessive the pup needs to be seen by a vet.

| excessive whinning means she/he is attempting to tell you something, could he be lonely??? is he the last one there?? or perhaps has an upset belly (change of diet), constipated?? if none of these things apply I would take him to the vet. Whinning puppy is not normal hope this helps

| No, she is not the last one and her diet has not changed. She seems to recently have become a big whiner and crier. Not constantly but anytime she is not either being entertained or sleeping. When the litter mates play she cries to get out. It has been going on nearing a week. I thought I read somewhere here that some pups are just whiner than others |

| I agree that she should be taken to the vet... maybe check her ears? Something is probably bothering her... she shouldn't be whining if the other pups are there... (she has company). Now... if she is the last puppy.... well.... let the whining begin!!!!

| From past posts I couldn't help but notice that you have had your hands quite full with this pregnancy and litter. Sorry for your luck. I was wondering if this is the same pup that had been taken to the vet for vomiting and lack of eating interest? Perhaps she has an abnormality in her digestive tract somewhere. The whining might explain discomfort. Your vet might suggest x-raying her or blood work to rule out liver problems. Best of luck to you and that little one. Please let us know how things turn out. |

| I don't know about puppies, but i breed cats, and excessive whining is a bad sign . Kitten can appear quite active and everything but the excessive whiner usually does not make it. Please see a vet.
