| ![]() I am very sorry that you lost her. It really is clear you did everything that you could, it just didn't sound like is was in the cards for this little one. Like you said, she was warm and full when she passed and that was because you were taking the best care of her possible. Again, I'm really sorry. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | ![]() Ruben, I have been following this thread since reading about the birth of Sabrina's pups on your other thread.........reading and learning. I am so very sorry this little one didn't make it. You obviously did everything in your power to help her (alot more than your ER vet was wanting to do; I think he's in the wrong profession ![]()

I am so sad for you. You tried so hard, and I know she was loved in her short life. Hugs, my friend.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | ![]() First off I'd like to day I'm sorry for you lost. I know how you feel. I also lost one of my tiny's born on 3-8-09. After trying for several days to keep her alive. I talked with our vet and had her looked at and he said she had Hydrocephalus. (water on the brain). Her little head was not shaped correctly (she had a slight domed head) and she never nursed. She would take milk from the syr. but not enough. I was told there was nothing more I could have done for her. I have another that is also small, but appears normal.

| ![]() I am just now seeing this thread.. I am sorry you lost your baby girl..I know the hurt.. Our little Gracie is almost three and she was not strong enough to suckle long and then wanted to sleep for hours.. so we had to sub q her twice and tube fed her every two hours night and day for two weeks.. she survived.. the vet did not think she would.. but all she needed was consistant feedings and she grew.. it was very hard.. I wish I had also seen this thread earlier... If she had blood in her stool.. it might have been for the best tho.. And I think you need to seach for a new vet also.. anne |

| ![]() I am just seeing this and wanted to let you know how sorry I am that you lost your little girl! You gave it your all, and sometimes it's just not going to work. Just some thoughts in case there is a next time, which I hope you're not faced with again.. I did read that you said her belly was red and litter mate's was pink? Real Red bellies usually mean they're septic. Give 3 or 4 drops which is about 1/10 cc of Amoxi twice a day for 3-5 days will clear that up.. usually within 24 hours but continue for 3-5 days. Blood in the stool could mean septic or just something wrong with the digestive tract, which can't be helped or over fed, or fed while too cold. They can't digest the milk if their body is chilled. I use a 125 heat bulb with hood and place it 2-3 feet above the babies, depending on how cool the room is and ventilation around the bed and I also place the lamp to one side of the bed to allow them to crawl away from the heat if needed. Put your hand where the puppies would be under the lamp and it should not burn, but be pleasantly warm. It is really difficult to save a "crier", sometimes there is something wrong that we just can't fix. I'd be looking for a Vet that cares as much as we do! Hugs and Good Luck!
