fleas help I brought my Abby home from the breeders about 3 weeks ago and today I found a flea. Is there any safe way to get rid of fleas with a pregnant dog? We have another yorkie and 2 cats and the last thing I want is a flea infestation. Thanks

I don't put anything on mine when they are pregnant. I would recommend just combing her daily with a flea comb and treat your other animals. I like to use Advantage. Hopefully there will not be a lot of other fleas if you catch them soon enough.

| Mix some vinegar and water and drench her with it. She'll stink for a little bit, but since the fleas aren't bad, it should work. I would also steam clean your furniture and carpets as well as wash anything she touched and make sure your other dogs are treated.

If you have carpets or area rugs sprinkle Borax on the rugs, let sit for a few hours and then vacuum. Borax supposedly kills any eggs laid. It will also freshen your carpets.

i use Dawn dishwashing detergent. It kills the fleas and they just fall off as you comb but it does not keep fleas off them. I put in on dry dogs then lather and wash. Rinse well.
