I trust more in the technique used by the breeders because of their experience with breeding over years. Also after looking and comparing videos from both vets and breeders, I stay with the clamp & twist rather than the slice & stitch.

Breeder's way, I can see less pain inflicted.

But if any, I would rather not dock the tail and I am glad it is illegal in Europe and hopefully soon everywhere. I have a yorkie with her full tail because I was able to choose and I love it! She wags it beautifully with the long coat like a nice fan and when she wants a treat she comes sit by your side, puts her paw on your leg whilst looking into your eyes wagging her tail aaawww to die for!!!

But with dew claws I think it may be necessary as they do get stuck at times in rope toys or playing outside. My Nina once had it happen but luckily it was only her nail which broke and not a torn finger. Sadly, I had not thought about dew claws when she was a pup, otherwise I would have had it done. But for the tail, there has never been any trouble with it. Maybe it is more necessary in working breeds.
