| Hi, this goes out to all breeders. Have you ever had pups with rear dew claws? My puppy Bonnie, has them. The breeder removed the front dews but didn't notice the rears. I just wondered how common it is for dogs to have rear dews.

| I have been raising yorkies for over 12 years and I never encountered rear dewclaws until several years ago when I got two females from another breeder that were sisters and both of them threw puppies with rear dewclaws. It has never happened with any of from my lines so I think it is pretty unusual. |

| I have had a few Yorkie pups with dews on both back and front. I am surprised the breeder left them on.

| I only noticed the rear dews about 3 days after I brought Bonnie home. I was getting ready to take her to the vet for a check up, when I felt her back legs. Boy, was I shocked. I let the vet do the complete exam without ever mentioning it to her. When I asked the vet, she had to take a second look. She says they are very tight to the leg, so they probably won't be a problem. I can have them removed when I take her for her spay. The breeder told me that she'd never encountered them before, but would check in the future. My groomer is aware of them so she will always clip them. I guess it's not a problem, but what a shocker
