Hi man I wish I would have seen this post before last October . I purchased a male Yorkie from David and Gloria still for a friend who has a child that has severe allergies and I told them this when I was inquiring about a puppy. Well we ended up buying one at first he looked like a Yorkie and the older he got the more he didn't look like one . He is very hyper and mean and he doesn't look like a Yorkie . It has been 8 months and his adult hair has finally came in and the boy with allergies he started have reactions from this Yorkie . I contacted Gloria today about the dog because i dont believe he is a pure Yorkie. I feel bad I put this family in this situation and now the boy has to give up his dog because its making him sick I'm so upset and mad I put my trust in those people and the screwed me. I told them and what they told me to do was just sell him.Gloria said she got him someone else and the papers said they were yorkies. Because of them I broke a little boys heart. I asked if I could get my money back and they have been very hateful . I cant keep the dog I have my two yorkies and they just had puppies. I just dont know what to do with dog now . I feel so bad and so upset these people are like this . |
Contact the Yorkie rescue organizations listed on on this website and check them out. I hope this link works and I did it right. Others here will know more about how to best find one and give you some recommendations. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...nizations.html |
Thanks so much !!! I wish those people would be shut down, That isn't right . I trusted them . |
I only read your next to last post and not any of the thread until just now and I must say from the little I've read I agee they should be shut down and stop producing sickly dogs. So much misery comes from breeders like this. |
Well what makes me so upset is I told them straight out it was for a child and he had severe allergies . Lucky his parents have realized in time that this poor pup is what making him sick . The last dog they tried before this put him in the hospital but the doctors told him a Yorkie would be okay but it would have to be a put one. This little boy just wants a friend so bad one he can love and take care of and he can't even touch this dog without breaking out . I feel so bad. |

Yorkies have dander too. If a human suffers bad allergies, there is no dog breed that is safe. |
Well he has never had any problems with my yorkies and the family watches a friends Yorkie a lot and he never had any problems with neither . Both mine and the other yorkie that visits go outside. The one I bought he has started to shed. His hair is not like mine and his temperment is not like a yorkies . He is so hyper and he doesnt look like one either he is very cute though . |

If the boy can tolerate your yorkies, his allergies must not be an extreme case. There are hyper purebred gorgeous yorkies. Of course, hyper is not the ideal. I hope the hyper little dog can be rehomed and a suitable pet found for the boy. :) |
I can not believe I did not see this post until today. It just makes me so angry that someone has the nerve to defend a person who treats their animals this way. I hope al;l who read this thread realize that Still Kennels is a working Puppy Mill and work at trying to shut them down. As for a God Fearing woman. I see no God Fear in this woman or she would not be treating his creations in such a horrible, disgusting way. |

I am glad that this thread is still open. I often check these forums when I have a question about my Yorkie and after finding this thread I knew I had to join and share my experience with the Stills. In November 2010 I was wandering around my local mall with my fiance when we walked into a pet store (The Pet Company). I hate going in these stores because I knew how bad these animals were treated and usually sick and I always wish I could save all of them. This day in particular I found my fur baby! I had no intentions of buying a pup that day but I fell in love with my yorkie the moment I laid eyes on her. She looked so sick, lethargic, and sad. I bought her that night and felt so happy that I was able to save her from that place. We took her to the vet and she had an upper respitoary infection, a parasite, and some kind of infection in her eye. This was all fixed with meds. I made sure to bring her places and socialize her with other dogs from a very young age. She is 2 now and will only nicely play with one other dog. Her pedigree shows so much inbreeding it disturbs me. This prompted me to do more research on the Stills and what I found was horrifying. I am so glad this thread exists and I hope whenever they are googled, people find this before every buying a dog from these people. While I wish all the dogs at their puppy mill could be resucued, that would mean they would continue to do what they are doing which is WRONG. To see those sheds on their website and think that MY BABY! was kept in there for sometime as a puppy makes me so mad and upset. I will continue to treat my pup as a princess even if she does not play well with other dogs. She absolutely loves our two guinea pigs and is the best companion ever. I wish the Stills could be shut down and those dogs sent to rescue homes to be loved the right way. I would hate to see this old couple on an episode of Animal Hoarders on Animal Planet. :(:(:( |

Still Kennels This is in response to the lady who had a bad experience with Still Kennels. I\'m very sorry to hear that. I bought my Yorkie, Giuseppe, from her, and he was healthy, very reasonably priced, and Gloria was a gem to work with. She kept me updated on shipping and followed up with our sale. I am responding because you asked for other people\'s experiences, and wanted to share. Hope that helps. Sincerely, Danae Lamarre |
