| UH OH! I think my little girl is pregnant! My little 2 year old yorkie girl is not fixed because she was an only dog her whole life and was constantly watched when outside or other places with dogs. She just had her heat cycle about a month and a half ago and we got a little male puppy who is about 3 1/2 to 4 months old. We were planning on getting our female fixed soon, but now she is showing signs of being pregnant! We know 100% that she was around no other dogs when she was in heat except this little puppy. Can someone please tell me if it is AT ALL POSSIBLE that a puppy this young could have gotten her pregnant??? If not then I'm sure she is just having a false pregnancy...but I swear I can feel and hear things moving in her belly at times. Someone please give me some advice soon. Our soonest vet appointment to get her in is this coming monday. Hope you all can help!!! |

| I would not expect that a 4 month old puppy could have got her pregnant, especially if he was much younger when she had her heat cycle. Most likely she is just having a false pregnancy. If you hear things in her belly that that is just because she is hungry or has a tummy ache. If you have any doubt then I would have her checked by a vet. |

I really need some advice on this pregnancy thing. I was told this little male puppy was like 9 1/2 weeks when I got him...but I was supposed to get his papers and never got them. (I got this dog from a friend of the bad breeder I was talking about above at the same time my inlaws got theirs...he is perfectly healthy so far, but maybe he is older than what she she told me??? Anyway, if someone can bump this up for me to help I would really appreciate it. My little girl is almost 2 and this was her second heat, but she is only 3 pounds. I know nothing about breeding and just thought her nipples were still swollen from her heat...now it seems it has been way too long and she has milk sacs under them now and I can feel what is like tiny marbles in her belly! I think it is too late to have anything done now, I just need some advice, I am taking her tomorrow to the vet. | |

| She could very well be having a false pregnancy. My advice is to take her to your vet and let him examine her. No need to panic now until you know something. Please keep us posted. |

| IMO I don't think so I believe she is having a Pseduo pregnancy also known as a hysterical pregnancy. your vet can confirm this.

| Thank you all. I don't think he could have been mature enough either. I think I am just spazzing out cause I don't want her to be pregnant! I'm not prepared for such a thing. You can sure bet if the vet can tell me for sure she is just having a false pregnancy I will be getting her spayed as soon as she is over it. I have read in other places that spaying during a false pregnancy can sometimes prolong it and make it more miserable for them. Has anyone else heard this or have any advice for me? Its hard to remember but I believe we saw her first bleeding like the week after thanksgiving and then since then she has gained more weight, (not a ton she went from 2.8lbs to 3.1lbs), and like I said before she has those sacs under her nipples. I will try to post a pic of her belly now to see what you all think. She has been really lathargic the last week or so also. The first one is of her belly, and the other two are of my new furbaby...the one in question! haha! |

| It's highly unlikely given the age of your male, if in fact that was the only male she had contact with. |

| It would be almost impossible because of the male pup's age, but if you don't trust the breeder, then there is no way to know if the pup was really that young. I would be a bit concerned now since you really don't know his age and she is way too small to have pups.

| I did take her to the vet and he said that he does not think she is pregnant. YAY!!! What a relief! He said she is just having a little bit of breast developement from after having her heat, which he said he felt breast tissue under her nipples and he couldnt expel any milk from her either. What I thought were milk sacs were really little boobies!! Aawww...my little baby is growing up, I'm gonna have to have "THE TALK" with her I guess! She did however have an intestinal parasite which was probably causing her to be more lathargic. A while ago I caught her eating poop outside and he thinks she may have gotten it from that. EWWW! My little Emma is supposed to be a lady! I guess dogs are dogs though! Haha...can't imagine that little treat is very tasty! I won't be trying it to find out. Anyway, she is on some medicine now that should wipe those nasty little boogers right out. As soon as she is all better she's gonna go get spayed, so no more worries! Thank you all for your concern and help! oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! |
