| Question about new baby Hi and Merry Christmas My little Mia had 2 babies today...a little girl 2 7/8 oz and a little boy 3 3/4 oz. The little boy seems content and has a fat little belly but the little girl seems to be crying a lot and doesn't have a fat belly. Mia seems to have plenty of milk but I not sure that the little girl is latching on good. Is there something I should do to help her? I have made the whelping pudding, just waiting for it to thicken, I did give Mia some yogart in the mean time.

| have you looked in her mouth to make sure she doesn't have a cleft palate? At her size, she is probably ust too weak to latch on good. You will have to hold her on the teat with your hand down the side of her little body to hold her in the right position to suck. You may end up having to supplement her until she gets strong enough to nurse. Good luck., I almost forgot, congratulations on your new litter. |

| Thank you so much for your help...I have been so worried about this little girl. I got her to latch on and she is nursing now. How often should I help her latch on?

| At least every couple hours. Sometimes they will take the teat into their mouths but are not strong enough to suck and eventually just kind of rolll off. That is where you will have to help her and weigh her at least three times a day. |

| Ok thanks again for your help. She stayed latched on for quite a while and now has a little bit of a belly. I will try again to get her on. One other question...how much whelping pudding should I give Mia?

| I got her to latch on again and she stayed on for a good little bit. I weighed her after and she was 3 oz. Its going to be a long night.

| Hi first of all "CONGRATULATIONS" on the birth of your 2 little babies!!! I would try and put A little supplement on teat, then hold her on. sometimes this can start her going, and try this every 2 hours until she gets the hang of it!! Hope this helps WendyX Fifi And Lulu |

I usually give my mamas about a tablespoon or two about twice a day. Morning and evening and a couple meals of their regular food in between. | |

| Good news...the little girl is now latching on by herself and is up to 3 1/4 oz. She seems much more content and isn't crying like she was. Thank you for all your help. Merry Christmas from Jenny, Mia, Max and our 2 little christmas blessings.

| She is doing great! She is latching on like a pro and no crying. She is up to 3 7/8 oz. Her little brother however is up to a whopping 5 3/8 oz. Its amazing the differences in their sizes. I am in love with them both.
