| We're on puppy watch!!!!! Lilah's temp has dropped to 98 degrees....it was 100.2 early this morning. She's glued to my side, won't let me out of her sight, and she is panting and shaking some. Looks like we're gonna have a long night!! Wish us luck, as this is our first litter! |

| You might get lucky and she may not have them until morning.. but oh yea, that is not always lucky cause it is a weekend... somehow they always time thier deliveries for afterhours and weekends.. makes you wonder if they are getting a cut from the vet

| We're having some contractions now...they started a couple of hours ago. I'm estimating that stage 1 labor has been going on for about 14 hrs...stage 2 should be coming soon, right? |

| yes, it could be anytime. just watch her really close. The first indication I have that they are pushing is they look like they are stretching thier necks. should be very soon now

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I would certainly think so. If she is having contractions she is likely at the tail end of the 1st stage and/or the beginning of stage 2 labor, depending on how strong the contractions are. I would guess that the first puppy will be here before too long. Stay calm........

| They're here! Hold on to your hats.....NINE babies. Keep in mind that she's a large Yorkie (bout 20 lbs). 6 girls, 3 boys, ranging from about 3.5 to 5 oz. Everyone is doing great, and it all went really smoothly. I had to cut a few cords, and tear a couple of sacs, but it was because they were coming too fast for tired momma to keep up! I'm gonna try to post some pics, but haven't figured out yet how to do it in a thread...if not on here, then I'll put them on my page! |
