Anne, I'm not sure I understand what's going on here. Do you know this Maxine? Because if you look at the other pedigrees this mixbreeder has several of Maxine's dogs!

Did anyone hear from the other breeders? (Durrer & Murphy) I would think that they would want their names taken off that site and to get Viza and her pup.

Yes, it doesn't look like this gal bred Viza to a mixbreed - yet! I wonder why she's selling Viza? Not a big enough producer with a single pup? :mad:

This just makes me so upset. I almost called her last night. I felt like asking her if she mixes her horses with burros? :mad: She sounds like she's just mixing a cocktail!!!

I did email Betty Anne Durrer ...to let her know with a link to the site...
but i did not hear anything ..though the funny thing was when i went to the site later... it said that Visa was sold and now it does not say that any longer ...I tried to search that Maxine but i could not find her as a breeder in the USA or Canada...

funny if u look up Hollingberry ..it says on her site that they purchased the pup...

u will find a 3 month old male yorkie for sale :(

There was a thread about her earlier this summer. After her Mom died she was wanting to place her dogs.

yes i found those threads about maxine seems she either gave the yorkies for free and the purchaser would have to pay for the spay/neuter..the thread was confusing as then the rescue was picking them up but not the pups ..those threads were in august 2008.seems possible that is when the she may have aquired those two yorkies Visa and Oscar ....

I am the same way, I have two verbal contracts with other breeders and I uphold the same standard for them as I do for a written one. If you betray someone's trust, you WILL get found out, it's just a matter of time...

LOL!!! I think at one time AKC was thinking about having both owners of the stud sign the litter papers. I dont know what became of that. Probably just too complicated.

In Canada I know a breeder of CKC yorkies and she breeds biewers... they are NOT allowed to be on the same web site... so her husband has the biewers and she has the yorkies.. that came from CKC in Canada..That person would not be allowed to promote these mixed breeds from yorkie champion pedigee..Just for you all to know...

and i checked out Maxine and where that Viza is 66 miles distance between them...:confused:
i think she may have tricked a distraught women to get the dogs ...
the pedgirees which i think may be photo copies only state Maxine as Breeder ???

Maxine owns this ch. yorkie.. and yes she sold the yorkies to this breeder but was not expecting her to breed this girl on her first heat, nor did she know she breeds other dogs.. maxine is not happy about this breeder at all.. and she is the full owner of this champion male...just for your information..
I hate to see a defencless breeder attacked and the other breeders notified.. I know this happens to good people at times.. we all try to keep our dogs going to the best people and all of our intentions can at times go wrong.. but what I see is people checking out the owner maxine like she should not have given breeding rights to some one she obviously did not expect this exposure of on her babies being sold.. or the male for that matter...some people going out of there way that do not know betty anne to be emailing her and posting this.. if it does not immediately affect you all.. then why all the drama about it all... I think she is a terrible person for doing what she has done.. but to be looking up Maxine and talking like she does not even own this ch.. yorkie is beyond me.. many many dollars went in to making this boy a champion by her best friend.. and yes, If I had 3 grand to spare.. I would try to buy viza myself to just find a good home for her.. but I do not have that kind of money.. but maybe you all should get together and purchase this viza and then you all can control what happens to her from now on.. something ya all might want to think about...is all I am thinking here... yes she got dupped.. but what is she to do ... she does not have internet nor a website.. maybe ya all should call her yourself and talk to her as action taken to own would be as good as anything done so far..

I feel compelled to weigh in because we got Camden from Maxine.
I'm sure some of you are aware of my story of bringing Camden into our family.
We "rescued" her last April when she was almost 2 1/2. She was in HORRIBLE shape when we brought her home. She had worms, ear & eye infections, she was matted all over her body and had to be practically shaved down. She smelled horrible and was scared of everything.
She is so precious and special to us and we love her dearly!
This doesn't shock or surprise me at all. I don't know how much she knew or didn't know about this situation, but given her lack of care and concern for Camden and some of her other dogs, nothing would surprise me.

First of all, this lady (Maxine) was a breeder. She did/does know what she's doing. She sold 2 females and 2 males unaltered to a person who had every intention of breeding! Are you saying that Maxine mentored this woman to breed Yorkies? And that this lady betrayed Maxine? Even IF she thought she was going to breed Yorkies - she really should have taken better care in what she was doing! Someone (Murphy/Durrer) trusted her with their name (line). All the more reason to check and recheck this lady from OH out.


So the first issue is that Maxine sold these dogs for breeding - then to really add insult to injury - she sold them to someone who does NOT know anything about breeding Yorkies and who is obviously breeding MIXED breeds for profit! Someone who is trying to change the breed. :rolleyes:


I don't know what you're upset about. I'm appalled that Murphy/Durrer haven't taken the bitch and the puppy back from that lady yet. As far as Maxine goes...
I think she knew darn good and well what she was doing. How could you not? She's responsible for them. She sold her 4 dogs... she should have made sure it wasn't going to happen!


This whole thing is so sad. And even sadder if something isn't done about it - soon!
