Experience with Teddy Bear Faces or Court Ash Yorkies?

I was looking for people that have had experience with these two breeders. If you are willing please share your experience with me positive or negative. I know some do not agree with the terms doll, teddy bear, t-cup, etc. I am not looking for opinions on that, but rather experiences you have had with the actual breeder (did you purchase from, know them, talk with them?).

I don't have any personal knowledge of these two "breeders". But from what I read on their websites, I don't see anything that points to either of them being a good breeder. There are way too many red flags on both sites. Of course, this is just my own opinion.

I cannot believe the prices they are asking for these pups. They are definitely adorable little babies and I would love to have one, but I cannot imagine in this economy she is getting those prices.

The first one is a broker and I have heard nothing but bad about the second one. JMO

Haven't used either breeder, but would not use the second one for sure. Some of those pictures are photoshopped. Who knows what her dogs really look like?

Hey Now, I have a hampster size one(biewer), she's the same size of the hampster at the pet store..:D

I also notice the site says "most" come with a health gurantee, why not all of them?

I ask because someone recommended CourtAshYorkies to me but they had not actually purchased from them. I was wondering if anyone here had purchased. I don't want a teaspoon dog. The TeddyBearFaces one has so little information I wasn't sure if it is a "boutique" or broker or something.

From my experience you can't believe most breeders when they tell you a dog is going to be tiny. Usually they say that and the dog ends up being normal size. So I usually ignore the weight and look at the dog or weigh it myself and talk with my vet. So many breeders claim their dogs don't get past 2 pounds and then you talk to people that own the dogs and they are like 4 or 5 full grown. Also, some breeders are saying the dog is full grown at 6months and I have never had a dog that completely stopped growing at 6 months. Sometimes when you get it they are not feeding it properly either so it will gain when you take it home. Or they are selling you a dog that is younger than they are saying it is. I'm not new to tiny dogs I know breeders can play tricks. My main concern is a healthy dog.

In advertising there is a technique known as "snob appeal." It's where you set your product apart from others by charging way more for essentially the same product. This actually works, and many people fall for it.

I use to have a plant business, and I bought the pots from a potter, one day while visiting his shop, he said that he was going to throw away two pots that didn't come out right. He said that I could have them for free. I decided to test this snob appeal theory, and doubled the price of the ugly pots. Sure enough, they were the first ones that sold at the plant party, bought by someone who was extremely label conscious. It's like she had no real taste of her own, but if something was expensive, she thought it must be more valuable or better than the other things. So, when buying a pet, beware of advertising gimmicks used to set a breeder apart from the others. There are certain qualities you should look for in a breeder, if you do this, you can be pretty sure of getting a fabulous dog, that is the size you want.

Awesome post!!! Never thought of it that way. I think that's why my roommates and co-workers are the way they are. I always hear them talk about money and how much they spend here and there on "brand" name stuff, usually followed by a number of complaints on how much they're spending. :rolleyes: It never occurs to them to live within their means and stop buying expensive purses and shoes.

One thing that really bugs me about the first breeder, well actually 2 things, are her "designer" dogs and price by weight. WTH is up with that???????
The second the website is looks funny to me. Not that I'm question her taste in pictures, but the puppies just don't seem real.

I purchased Keoki from Courtash yorkies and I know her prices are crazy but not on all of the dogs and when I got him almost a year ago her prices were not like that. I did do a lot of research on breeders and spoke to her and feel like I got a healthy, happy, beautiful yorkie. I was looking for a dark yorkie and found she had what I was looking for. I also felt confident when I spoke with her about my baby and even flew out to Colorado to pick him up. I have also called her and asked her questions since I have had Keoki and she has been great. I normally would not post here because I have seen people rip other people over breeders but in all honesty I feel truly blessed. My baby is such a great dog - he is also 7 pounds and was not a lot of money but you have to go with who you feel comfortable with. I feel like I knew what I was getting with Keoki - what I was told and saw in pictures is exactly what I got and I am so grateful for him.

The first one has some beautiful puppies..........but lord the money she wants for them is that even possible to get at this time. The second one I would stay away she has a himilayan on there she states is "rare" because it has curls..............not the standard for a CFA cat.........then she writes "looks like a seal point, or looks like a blue point". If she knew what she was breeding and what they look like she would be able to state for sure what the color base of a himilayan is..........I can tell just by the pictures and I am not a breeder, just a cat fancy is all.

I've left a deposit with Courtash Yorkies a couple of years ago. Never got it back, never got a puppy. She does alot of line breeding to keep the size of her pups small. I have spoken to her and she had told me that when she needs to, she looks for inexpensive broods and then breeds her males to them to get more dams and then after a while, re-sell the inexpensive brood as a pet (keeping the female pups) and then breed the female pups back to her males to bring down size.

I had changed my mind after a couple of other breeders told me their experiences and not-so great quality puppies with her. I was sent photos of the pup that this breeder's friend had purchased, which was very cute as a puppy, but then fell apart and turned out to be big, big ears, big nose etc.

They told me that she does alot of in-breeding to get the smaller sizes that alot of people are looking for. I was also told that the prices posted are not the real prices that she actually receives for them. Some of the breeders that I have spoken to who know her (who are also members of YT), told me that she never gets $6500 for a puppy and that it's just an inflated number....but who knows, maybe someone who doesn't know any better really does pay that much.

I did meet this man at the vet who had a yorkie pup that he purchased from a pet store in Fontana, CA. He wouldn't tell me how much he paid, he appeared to be embarrased. When I asked if he paid over $3K, he said yes, but wouldn't tell me any more. His female pup was less than a pound and was about 3 mos. old. He was bringing her in to the vet because she has a hernia and he says her hair is thinning.

Anyways, it's up to you if you would like to use her or not. I chose not to. She was very nice on the phone and has tons of info, but after learning what I did, I just prefered to get a better quality puppy and had changed my mind.

Oh yes, I forgot. Courtash Yorkies did tell me that if I ever hear any negativity about her from other breeders, it's only because they are all "jealous".

I would research through the websites and go to see the people and the yorkies..it is a lifetime friend ..would u buy a home or car without seeing it first or choose a husband like that ..yikes !
