Day 55 for Princess! Puppies are moving like crazy. My boss is very reluctant to give me time off as we are in a busy time of year, but thank goodness my fiance is at home right now. Princess is pretty large, even larger than the pics I posted a week ago |
$300-$400 is not bad at all for a C-Section. I will take Rosie in for x-rays tomorrow (Day 50)and I will ask my vet what he would charge. Hopefully we won't have to go that route. When did you notice that Princess' puppies were moving around alot? How are Halle's pups doing? |

Hey Girl. I would Xray her so you can see the size of the pups heads and how many pups you are expecting. Check this site out Canine Reproduction Video and Book on Breeding and Whelping dogs by Debbie Jensen for dog breeders and Whelping Supplies needed to deliver puppies. It has a lot of info, there are also more helpful sites but I think this one would be good for you. Email me, I am going to take a shower now but will be back on in a bit. |
Congrats to those who have had their pups already...now let the fun begin. :D Skittles will have her x-ray today...day 61 for her. It just so happens last time she was pg she got xray on day 61 as well. I'll post later when we find out how many we are expecting. My prediction is 5 tho...and everyone else in the house says 6 or 7! I hope not, 4 last time was a manageable handful I cant imagine 7! I can feel them move around now and see them move....that is my fave part of her pregnancy. Her temp is all over like it was last time so I'm more watching her than anything for signs that it's time! |

I did get another DVD and book and watched it. Got my hot box all ready and whelping pen all ready, but it looks like Peter will be taking her to the vets for an xray tomorrow or maybe this afternoon even. I would feel better knowing. The vet examined her and said she should have enough room and when he palpated her abdomen he felt 5 at 27 days, but it would make me feel better to know. I have no problem with a C section (I had two) if it is a necessity. What's best for baby girl is most important and the puppies of course. I'll email ya too. |
2 Attachment(s) Miss Taffy went for a sonogram yesterday and the lady said 5 to 7 I can't inmagine that many little ones inside her but she is HUGE.. my son said that the lady that conducted the sonogram said that we are in puppy watch, that they are really develop, her temperature is normal today but she sugested that we start taking her temp by wenesday every morning and evening.. and it seems that she will be able to deliver the pups normally. the vet put her in a vitamin supplement. her temp this morning was 100.0. she ate her breakfast and I gave her the vitamins and now she is just resting here next to me..This yorkie Russells are going to be so cute.. :) hugs, cArmen in nj |

Rosie Had Her x-rays Today I took Rosie in for her x-rays today. Well, 1st of all...too much poop in there to see very clearly. We could make out 3, but there is a lot of white in the x-ray, so it could be more. Also, he said they are very small so he thinks that Rosie became pregnant from her 2nd tie which is one week later. That would make the x-rays around day 43 which really is too early. So 3 for sure...maybe more. I wished that I had waited longer before taking her for an x-ray. I asked what he charged for a C-Section...he said $700-$800! That's alot more than some of you guys were charged! I like my vet, he does great work, but that's double the cost. Hopefully she will be able to deliver on her own.:animal-pa |
Congradulations to all the new Mommies!!! :party: And, safe, easy, quick delivery well wishes going out to all the expectant Moms!!! :hands: Just an FYI...My Ginger is due for her xray on Saturday...I can hardly wait!!! Based on the number of heart beat tones I've heard so far, I'm guessing there are a total of four in that big ole belly of hers. :hmmm33: |
Jenna's temp dropped to 97.5 at 5pm yesterday. She seems to be resting. She has took to her whelping box and is not leaving. Looks like a long night. I am thinking about getting my pillow and blanket and sleeping in the closet with her. lol |
