| ~I think if she is a reputable breeder, than her babies would not have been outside...cold or warm weather, a garage sale no less. Even if she just moved to the area, she should have had the buyers come to her house. THis sounds fishy to me. All the new posts that have opened a new acct on YT to defend her....again fishy.....If you are reputable, than why not quit your garage sales NOW and start selling out of your home. I have never once considered mine a business, the thought never crossed my mind. Before I started breeding, I liked going to the house of the breeder to see the environment of the place where the puppies that I bought were born and raised. For me, I wanted the breeders house to be clean and the puppy area clean. This just sickens me to think of these poor puppies being sold outside at a garage sale in the cold. This is just as bad as a puppy mill if not worse. |

| I dont understand how anyone can defend this breeder. Taking very young & small unvaccinated puppies to show off/sell at a garage sale ![]() The breeder obviously had selfish intentions for putting tiny babies in a public situation with no shots...and for the sake of advertising?? If she wants her name out there....why not vaccinate the puppies, run a local ad and invite people to come see where they are raised? With all of that being said, I think there is hope for this breeder. Maybe her customers that have come here defending her, could show her this thread and motivate her to do whats in the best interest of her pups. I think she needs to be welcomed to YT. She would have valuable information at her fingertips. That would be the right thing to do IF everyone could get over the fact that she advertised at a garage sale. |

What part of "ethical breeders do not sale puppies at garage sales" don't you understand? | |

| I have read this right from the beginning. Since I do work the flea markets and do craft shows, I have seen many vendors selling puppies including Yorkies right from their booth. Nine years ago I started to sell my Daisy's Dog Hats with Sunglasses. I have always taken at least three of my adult Yorkies with us. This way I can show the customers how to teach their dog how to wear the hat and sunglasses, using them as models. After I started to breed myself, I started to take the puppies with me on occision. . When my puppies are sold, I want them to be well soialized.. I take them with me after they are 12 weeks of age, at least, and up to date on all shots. They are in a LOCKED crate with a padlock on it. No one is allowed to take them out. If anyone is interested in talking further about buying one from me, they must call and make an appointment to come to our home. This past month, I took two girls with me, they were 15 weels old at the time. I meet a very nice couple that I felt would be perfect for one of the girls. They emailed me that night, called the next day and we set a time for them to come and visit. They left to think it over, they could not decide which baby they liked the best. They called the next night to say that they would take both girls. This was perfect for the two sisters. They will have a great home with a wonderful couple. I can not imagine selling one of these babies, that I had cared for and loved so much for over 3 months, to someone that I would never talk to or see again. A part of me goes with everyone of the puppies that my husband and I have helped raise. I MUST spent time with anyone that wants one of our puppies so that I get a feeling of what they are about. I could never just hand over one of my dogs with one hand and take the money with the other.

| i love my amazing and very handsome pup... he's such a handsome boy! Ms.Strecky if you are reading this i know that it is difficult to build clientel in a brand new area thats over 20 hours away! I wish i be more help, but living clear across the country doesnt help you out very much. i see why you had the pups out @ the garage sale. i'm happy that you have taken time out to make sure the people who are future owners will really and honestly take care of those dogs. |

| i Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not by hear-say! YES, I WILL stand up for Ms. Strecky because she is wonderful! And if she is reading this, i DO apologize for being clear across the country & having friends all around the world who cannot help out w/ her clientel. Plus, i dont trust all of my friends and/ or family with a dog. Its sad but true. I also hope that things get better for you living 24hrs from where you used to be! you're doing a great job! oh, and i tried to post a picture but apparently my bitesize was to large |

| Thanks Anne for posting this and warning all of us. It just makes me sick thinking that her fan club are posting knowing that she tried selling her babies outside @ a garage sale.
