| You need to be feeding her a high protien, quality diet right now as well as making sure she is getting ample amounts of calcium so that she can produce enough milk for her little ones. She should have a pretty ravenous diet right now. There is a recipe here on YT somewhere for an after whelping 'pudding' that you may want to try. I don't know it right off the top of my head, but a search should bring it up. |

| I would be very concerned with the momma. Have you been monitoring her temperature? If she is still running a temperature then she will not want to eat. Is she on antibiotics? I am sure she feels bad with all that she has been through but you have to get her to eat. I am not sure turkey would have been the best thing because that could cause her to have a tummy ache. If she does not eat then her milk will dry up and then you will really have a problem. Science diet is a poor quality food. You could get some canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice puppy food and offer her that mixed with a little dry food. The whelping pudding would be good also. I pray momma and babies do well. Please keep us posted. |

| I agree the Goats milk is wonderful, add Baby cereal (Barley) to the warm milk and spoon feed it to her she will love it. I add a forth of a crush calcium pill that we got from the Vet. You can also give her cottage cheese and some vanilla yogurt. They love chicken breast too. Good luck, she'll be back to normal in no time.

| Just now seeing this. Here is a little trick that seems to work every time for me: Take the dry food, about a cup and mix in a tablespoon of BACON GREASE, stir it throughly, so that all of it is sort of coated. You can do the same with cottage cheese, but I have found that a dog that just will not eat, will love this mixture. It coats their stomach too if they are a bit nauseated. All of the above suggestions are great too, but this BACON GREASE seems to do the trick when nothing else will. Have your vet explain to you what her gums should look like too so that you can keep a check on that. Also, B-12 injection would be good for her right about now. HOPE SHE IS DOING GOOD BY NOW! |

| You have lots of good advise here but I can add one more. Bil Jac Frozen if you can get it where you are. (of course defrost it) When I worked for Bil Jac we used to overnight this to the University of Pa. when they had sick dogs to save their lives. It puts on a bit of weight so I never kept my yorkies on it but it does miracles when they won't eat and builds up their strength. Hope she is doing better. Joan

| Just came across this thread and noticed that there has not been an update. When you took Mommy back to the vet due to the fever, what did the vet say? Are you treating her? Hopefully once she is feeling better she will start eating. Producing milk burns up a tremendous amount of calories and she desperately needs to eat some good quality food - I would suggest home cooking as an alternative - perhaps you could ask your vet for the home cooked version of the Hills's Science Diet A/D - it is a high calorie food for dogs who need extra calories. |
