Anyone have feedback on Hornings Farm or Happytinypuppy.com? Hi. I am currently looking for a puppy. Before I set out to visit any litters, I would love to get feedback from anyone who may have dealt with or heard anything about Hornings Farm in PA. or Happytinypuppies.com in New York. Thanks so much. |
I sent you a PM. |
Hornings Farm looks like a broker, not a breeder. :thumbdown |

Horning's Farm - www.horningsfarm.com Based upon the low price and the fact that they are selling puppies at only nine weeks old (The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America requires breeders to keep puppies until they are at least 12 weeks old), Happy Tiny Puppies is probably a backyard breeder. "Bargain" puppies can cost you a fortune in vet bills down the line since no health testing and genetic screening is done. Puppies for Sale by Happy Tiny Puppies |
happytinypuppies is a puppy mill..ive been there and there was a big story on the owner although they changed the kennel name. |

In case your interested ~ I just had a litter of cuties today! I am right outside Harrisburg, Pa. Let me know if you have any questions! You can look under my profile in albums to see pictures of her last litter! Ericka |
hornings farm Hello, I purchased my maltese from them. We love our dog and are planning to go back to them for another. The facilities were clean and well kept. The people we met treated the puppies well from what we saw. |
Hi, I had a friend ask me about the Horning Farm place. I'm from PA and never heard of them. However, she did some researching and found TONS of bad about them. The other place I think used to be called Happy Apple Kennel. They are known for switching their name all the time. Definately a MILL!!! :thumbdown |

Obviously they think we are stupid... |

Actually I'm a yorkie owner....3 to be exact...and I purchased my youngest from Hornings. No problems, whatsoever. Cute as a button! I live about 20 minutes away from Hornings and would definitely say they are a puppy farm but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are a puppy mill. No, I am not affiliated with these people - they're amish - I'm definitely not. You can see pictures of my Daisy on Myspace. Look up "ShikMegan". I was actually just out yesterday looking at some other breeds I might be interested in. The family is very nice and accomodating. I talked with the woman for over an hour seeking advice on breeding in the future. Any questions, feel free to ask. Im more than happy to help if I can. Shikmegan@aol.com |

Absolutely. And I wouldn't say that I am an advocate on their behalf but since I have been there and worked with them I can say their puppies as well as their breeders are well taken care of. Again, it is an amish family which mean many people to assist with their care and I have witnessed this as well. Of course, I prefer private breeders but for what this facility does - not always my #1 choice - but I have had good experiences with them. |
hornings farm i highly recommend Horning's Farm to anyone wanting a puppy they take good care of the puppies and you can tell that they care about them. i got two dogs there. my lhasa apso and a shi shon. The people there are very friendly and if your looking for i puppy you should go there. |
Ironically, the only positive feedback that has been given for this "breeding facility" has been from new members who's ONLY post have been to praise this place...hmmm...wonder why that it... Quote:

Some people must do a search for the name of their "facility" and then pop in to post a quick recommendation. Three 's and all of them only posted in this thread. Well, the observation of what is going on has already been made by a couple of people -- just echoing how obvious it is. Sort of insulting that they think we could be so easily misled. They can call it a farm, a mill, a barn, whatever name they want -- but I can't ever support an operation that sells puppies born to mothers who never get to know the joy of being in a HOME with a loving family, being played with every day, kept clean and fed quality foods, the wonderful feel of running through the yard, the freedom of getting out of a cage they are forced to stay in and breed, breed, breed...... I have seen enough footage of puppy mills to turn my stomach every which way this week. I just do not think anyone should be able to breed any more dogs than they can safely and sanitarily care for in their own home! There are a VERY few exceptions that raise their dogs in outside kennels, that actually get their dogs all outside each day, provide them with proper care and vet services, and just as important -- individual love and attention. But I bet the ones that fall into that category are a drop in the bucket of slime that abuse them. |
Happytinypuppies is now happyrocky.com, I lost count on how many times that place has changed its name.So sad:( |
They also stated that the owners are Amish but in Pa The amish are the ones who run puppy mills. When I was doing rescue work in the tri state area I've been to many puppy mill Auctions and quess what they were all run by the amish. I've even seen it were one family breeds and other members of family who live on different farms brokers. |

They have more than they would like everyone else to know. Just like they have a TV commercial advertising there fireplace heaters. |

If this used to be Happy Apple Kennels... I was there. The people were not amish, that I am sure of. I did not buy my pup from there and honestly, couldn't get out of there fast enough. :(It was apparent to me that was not the place I could ever do business with. I did feel sorry for their dogs. There was a big news report on them locally. |
