Is happy tiny puppies same group of people as happy apple kennel? Thanks |
yes it is now ,happyrocky.com last i checked anyways. |
Pups I was actually planning on getting a pup from there put their pics are too proffesional, they have too many breeds, and no email address. I got suspicious so I looked into it more. I can see that people think it sells milled pups but does it really? Do you have proof? All of the people who bought from there have good reviews. Im confused. What should I do? Should I just turn to another place?:aimeeyork:animal-pa:animal36 |

Just out of curiosity, what problem does your little one have that requires her to eat a prescription food? I certainly would not consider that "normal," so I'm just wondering what the reason is. |
Info Most of the Amish farms near our community that have sold within the last ten years have relocated to New York. My husband and I have remarked to each other on this point. It may simply be that is where ALL of our community of Amish have chosen to relocate, I dont know. I have no knowledge of puppy mills (and we live in a small town) but can attest to Amish present in New York. The families we have met have been valued members of our community and have not been known to raise any puppies. They have only had cattle dogs that we know of. Hard working farming families. Most raise sheep here. However, Pennsyvania is not the only state where puppy mills are congested. They can and are EVERYWHERE RUN BY ANYONE. The greed for the almighty dollar is evil. Personally I would not buy any puppy without actually visiting the breeder. In my humble opinion. If purchasing a companion and new member of your family that will be a part of your family for fifteen years or more, I belive that warrants a visit to see what environment your puppy is raised, as well as request to see the parents. I certainly do not wish to lump all amish together when mentioning irreputable breeders, as we have witnessed many hard working families that take good care of their livestock. I feel bad breeders come from all walks of life. But posted this only to let others know there is a large population of Amish in New York State. Networking would be possible, as it is with any puppy mill breeders. I would question any web site that has the need to change their name on a consistant basis. Also no email? but on the web? That should be a giveaway? and if they have many puppies? seems strange to limit communication like that. I would question it. I would check both CKC and AKC for names and addresses of the breeders also. |

I am not from MA but check out the YTCA website or ask like people have on here about certain breeders before committing...saves alot of money and heartache in the longrun. Just my opinion of course... |
hey there, I know this reply is wayy late, but I purchased a puppy from happytinypuppies.com about a year and a half ago. My puppy is very happy and healthy! full of energy. i love her very much. i paid about 670 for her, at 16 weeks old. she's now 5 lbs. I didn't recieve any papers proving she was a pure breed, although she definitely appears to be one. I do have to say the "breeder" didn't speak good english, he required a deposite before delivering her to me. he drove personally to my home and dropped her off and signed some paperwork. i never heard from him again, even after some emails. so all in all my puppy was happy and healthy! but the breeders made me feel questionable. hope this helped! |
Hornings Farm One other note on Hornings Farm. They will put a hold on a puppy with no deposit for 4-5 days I think. |
Hornings Farm We bought a 10 wk old puppy from Hornings Farm last week and so far she is healthy, smart and active. It is a Menenite farm where they house puppies from elsewhere to be sold in a barn which is their kennel. It seemed as clean as a barn can be and the puppies seemed happy and well cared for, but there were many puppies in each cage. Larger ones had runs but door had to be propped open for them to use run. So as with a puppy mill you don't get to see parents or even pics - but they do have info on breed and weight of parents. Of course as with any puppy mill assurance just isn't there. But after seeing our puppy I had to take her home even with unknowns. They prefer cash but took some cash and a check from me since they hadn't told me about that. After a week home our puppy is doing fine - vet said she's healthy and up to date on all shots, worming, etc. We'll keep our fingers crossed. |

I agree - that's why when I saw my puppy I bought her because I wanted to get her out of there. We consider it a rescue |
Purchasing from a puppymill isn't rescuing. It's supporting the puppymills & allowing them to stay in business. I didn't read the entire thread. Just the last few posts. I can't imagine knowingly purchasing from a puppymill. I apologize now if my words are offensive to anyone, but I feel that this is just wrong! The place you are describing should be shut down...period. Continuing to purchase puppies from them only allows them to stay in business. |

Sorry- but that's not a rescue. You gave them money, rewarding them for what they have done, and opened up more space for them to do it again. |

Look up the various tests a Yorkie should have. Do bats at 16wks and again at 6months old. Hopefully you will have dodged the bullet. Liver Shunt is not rare in this breed. I'm sorry I don't have any hard stats on that but maybe anywhere from 10-30 percent of Yorkies are afflicted. I hope the best of health and loving for your and your new pup |

I bought my Yorkie/Bichon at Hornings Farm in Mifflinburg. I have read posts that it is a puppy mill and others that it is a puppy fam. Whatever the case may be, I was very satisfied with the conditions I saw. The couple were extremely wonderful and knew everything about every puppy there. It was clean and neat and the woman suggested I take several puppies in the outdoor area and play with them to see which I felt most comfortable with. Maybe they are not an actual breeder but I was more comfortable buying there than in a pet store where the prices are outrageous. The pups are not in cages, they are allowed to run through the entire area. I was most impressed and would buy from them again if I would desire another pup. We absolutely love our Yorkie/Bichon. I can not imagine our life without him. My granddaughter and her mother went with us to pick him out and next week they are planning to go to Horning Farm to by a Westie!! By the way, I don't think these people are Amish, I believe they may be Mennonite, but I really don't care, as far as I am concerned they were wonderful people who truely care about the pups in their care!! |
The phenomenon continues... |

Either one Amish or Mennonite, both are known for the heartless, cruel treatment of their animals, whether it's dogs, cows, pigs, it doesn't matter to them - it's all "money in the bank". I know as I have witnessed their actions many times, living in the middle of an Amish/Mennonite community. But you go ahead with the future purchase of another puppy from them. Hope your conscience will allow you to sleep at night, knowing your responsible for other dogs continued suffering. Sometime just for your education, you should attend an Amish/Mennonite breeders auction. There you can see the true environment your little Bichon/yorkie mix and your daughter's future Westie lived in and where you are condemning their parents to spend their lives. Then come back and sing the breeder/brokers praises. |
Hornings Farm To be perfectly honest, I really don't care what you think, if you haven't been there and seen the conditions, don't be so judgmental! I personally have heard stories where some breeders keep their dogs caged with the sole purpose of breeding AND ONLY BREEDING!!!! I can only go by what I have seen and these people run a clean place where the puppies are running freely through the runs and are extremely happy and affectionate. They knew each and every puppy by name before we looked at their name tags. So please don't ask me how I can sleep at night. How can you sleep at night being so judgmental of someone you don't know just because some Amish are puppy breeders....shame on you!!! I don't judge people by their race or religion! I am person who loves people and animals. I don't feel guilty at all when my beautiful, happy and healthy puppy is curled up in my lap or romping with my 3 granddaughters or kissing the face of my one year old grandson! I am HAPPY AND PROUD!!!! Can't wait to meet my granddaughter's Westie, actually going along to get him! I WILL CONTINUE to recommend this place to everyone! And guess what, it is a FREE COUNTRY!!! |

it was not the race or religion of these people that annoys the YTers, its their livestock opinion of their dogs. no matter how clean it was or how well the people knew the puppies, a barn is no place for a small breed (or any breed imo) puppy to be. so fair enough, praise and support these people; but no matter how you try to turn this around, you are still supporting a puppy farm. plain and simple. |

Amazing, isn't it? |
Sorry, I forgot... Just fuel on the fire... I'm just not gd at ignoring them yet; but from now on I will- it's not like it's Ever gonna sink in *sigh*. |

Luckily, when people join the forum and immediately jump in to defend or criticize a breeder, particularly in a very old, buried thread, no one really views their posts as credible and takes them seriously. (50 bonus points to any new member who manages to defend a questionable breeder AND offend and insult long time members in the process;)) More often than not, those members never post again on YT once they have amply exalted the breeder. |
