Sadly, not even remotely close to the truth. Look at how many people are breeding Yorkies these days because of their popularity....you would think that there would be a GREAT gene pool to choose from, but that is far from reality. :( Ideally if all breeders were breeding to constantly improve and preserve the standard, that would be the case, but it's not. Well if I was the only one breeding them that would make for an extremely small gene pool. There would not be a whole lot of variety in the pedigrees to choose from. This is what I was talking about. By others breeding goldens there is more variety in the gene pool.

Yeah...there may end up being more variety. The quality of that variety is what will suffer when people just go breeding willy nilly.

I found this interesting...do you know how the Beiwer standard reads? The Biewers have a written standard for color placement where the partis don't. With my Partis. Snowflake has those colors and patterns. She is Blue white and Gold. On the Gold and white dogs, only in that I am hoping to produce symetrically marked dogs eventually. Note that I say hoping. Congrats on your Biewers they are very pretty dogs.

Aaah...you edited to ad to your post while I was replying. Yes, you are missing something...you stated you are trying to follow the Beiwer standard with your dogs and the Biewer standard doesn't allow for 2 colored, gold and white dogs. Some partis do resemble Biewers in their coloring even though they aren't.

Biewers have great coloring, so wanting to strive for that is a compliment to Biewer owners. If Biewers were AKC registered dogs I would probably have just got them but I wanted to stay with one registry.
