| deworming question I figure I would ask you wonderful yt breeders a few questions about deworming. I am getting a puppy Saturday, not from a breeder he is a rescue and I will have to deworm him myself. I went to our vet and they gave me a precription when we bring him home. I haven't had to deworm a dog in years and since he is almost 9 weeks and hasn't been yet what should i expect? Will I be dealing with spaghetti's? That is all I remember when I fostered a puppy from the pound, tons of worms. I am scared. They haven't seen any in his stool thus far so does that mean I am going to have to deal with a ton? Especially since he is 8/9 weeks and hasn't been yet. |

| I would recommend that you take the puppy to the vet and get it checked before worming him. He could possible have coccidia and regular worm medicine would not help with that. Also, a vet could give him a good checkup at the same time. |

My vet is closed on Saturday and sunday and they urged me to do it before I take him monday. I will then take in a stool sample as well for them to look at. | |
