can implantation cause spotting? My yorkies mated and I have noticed that my girl sometimes when she does pee pee, there is a dot of blood in her urine. just a dot. I have seen 5 dots so far and was wondering if this is due to babies implanting in her uterus. Her heat stopped 5 days ago (3 weeks).

spotting It is quite common to spot like that...I have had stud clients call a week or so later saying their bitch was spotting and they wanted her bred again thinking I had bred too early...I have compiled when I could not convenice them that it was normal...and the breedings never took from week later breedings..always from the prior breedings.

Thank you. I wonder if those 5 dots mean 5 puppies?

The embryos do not implant until approximately 16 days after ovulation. I have never heard of spotting because of it. It is not unusual to have some spotting through the 4th week of gestation, it is remnant of the prior heat cycle.
