Weird Behavior My Layla is pregnant with one puppy. Her due date is July 12. I was just wondering about something, I have a outside tom cat, he and Layla have always been the best of friends. For the past week, this tom cat keeps trying to attack Layla. I have to lock him up when I take her outside. Has anyone else experienced this situation with a pregnant yorkie and a tom Cat? His behavior (the cat) has me baffled.

Some tomcats can be very mean and will attack and hurt a dog. Just because they were friends before, he could now sense a change in her and not like her. Also, if the tomcat has come of age, he may just be becoming more territorial and he may perceive your female as a threat to his territory. Please keep your female safe from him. Cat bites can be very serious.

Thank you for replying, I was wondering if it had something to do with her being pregnant. I have a male yorkie also and he doesn't bother the male at all. I do know that Layla is afraid of the tom cat now. She will run from it and get on lap if the cat is around. Tiger (the cat) is a stray that someone sat out and he found his way to our home, so we adopted him. He's a good cat and we haven't had any problems before, I hope everything gets back to normal.
