| Day 52 Expressed Milk,is it Too Early for this? This morning I shaved Lola's belly and vulva area including her butt since she had diarrhea. I washed her belly and vulva with a moist washcloth .I noticed a drop of thick milk on her nipple and wiped and put a little pressure to check if this was indeed her milk coming in and a big thick amount came out! So I finished cleaning her up . I know there is no specific day that their milk comes in but I've read in so many links that milk comes in like 3 days before the whelp... She's on my bed resting now . I did take her temp at 10 am this morning and its 99.3 I don't,don't ,don't want her to have them early!!! Thank God I am home all day with the ocassional errands that I do. I won't be going out,I'll be rushing on the street to get back home lol. Genie Cookie,Lola &Angel |

| Hey Genie, I wish I could help you with this one, as you have offered me good solid advice. I wish the best for Lola and I am thinking about you two. Thank you again for the support and be sure to keep me posted. We have been through it all, the both of us, so I am praying and believing that your pups will be absolutely wonderful.

| It is normal for some females to have milk a week or so before delivery. I would not worry

| I googled around a bit to see what answer I might find but could find no definitive answer but that abdominal pressure can cause the milk to be expressed. Everything else I found indicates that milk being expressed indicates birth coming soon. I could only suggest to keep Lola as inactive as possible to possibly keep her from going in to labor. |

| I was thinking that this happens to some dogs also and she is right on schedule.I'mnot taking any chances though. She's supervised all day. Even if I'm cleaning ! My oldest daughter is laying down with her so she isn't alone. If I leave the room and no one is there ,she starts whining and barking for someone to come get her. She's never like that so I know its a pregnancy thing with her.I'm just hoping she makes it at least until next wednesday, she'll be 59 days then. |

| An x-ray may help you to know more. Not so much the size of the pups as an indicator but their positioning. |

We got the Xray done yesterday and 1 pup is in position, head is down close to her pelvis area. The other one is facing up and the head appeard to be up in the ribcage....I swear I feel another one may be hiding lol I am calmer now that I've heard back from breeders telling me that they have had their dog express milk up to 2 weeks before the whelp and if she makes it to 58 -59 days pups should be fine by then. I totally forgot we had plans to go to a park for 4th of July! I am not going and have already broken that news to hubby.I dont mind staying home with her but hubby and my girls will miss me .. So I think we will be staying home and doing a little BBQ just for us Genie, Cookie,Lola & Angel | |
