I think this would be one of the most difficult parts of being a breeder. You have to be a great judge of character, and things are not always what they seem to be. I am glad you are the type of breeder that takes the puppies back, I know Joey's breeder told me that if at anytime in his life, I couldn't care for him she would take him back. How long have you been breeding, if you don't mind my asking?

I've been breeding for 5 years and am just about ready to quit but not just over this. I't hard work with the show world being all political with competitions planned with amazing strategic sophistication, people demanding unreasonable health guarantees and low prices, then you get someone like this sociopath who essentially wanted to "borrow" puppies for a day with no concern whatsoever over the amount of my time she wasted or how this joepardized the health and safety of my puppies. Yeah, I'm tired of it already.

| I had a situation similar to yours except that the person waited too long and when she came home with the puppy its was too late , the pup died 15 minutes after he was here . I never gave the money back to the woman . Later on , I called all the Yorkie breeder of my area , gave them the name and phone number of this woman . She called them one by one and the only answer she received was a firm NO . |

I'm sorry about your puppy, but I'm so glad you were able to warn others. This one had told me she was a good friend of a nearby very reputable breeder. I contacted that breeder yesterday to tell her about this and verify they knew each other. The breeder told me she knew the woman quite well but had not heard from her in two years, and at that time she had just purchased a puppy from a store. I don't know anything about that, but I can't tell you how sad I feel to have let my puppies go home with her.

| She starved the poor babies, how horrible! Even if she had fed them, they still would be uneasy and nervous the first few nights. I'm so happy you got them both back before it was too late!!! I hope you're able to contact other local breeders to warn them too. That lady shouldn't have a dog!

| Glad to hear you got them back. Sometimes you just can't tell about people. I had a lady come over last fall to see my pups. She was looking for a small girl. Well, I had nothing but small girls from that litter but she didn't want to pay what I was asking for them. Good thing too. After she told me she was going to look at someone else's pups, she said, "if it gets too big, I'll just sell her". Well, she calls me back and tells me she had bought a 6 week old girl (yeah, I know). Then last week this same lady calls me back, looking for a small girl. She didn't realize I recognized her voice but goes on to tell me she had bought a girl last fall and it had got too big (4 pounds at 6 months) and she was selling her. I told my wife I hope she does sell her because that baby doesn't deserve to be with such an idiot. Sad thing is, this woman will go on buying dogs, being dissatisfied with them and re-selling them. Knowing how this woman is, I wouldn't trust her with my dog's poop, much less a puppy. |
