| update: yorkie gestation.... Well today is the day that I meet the breeder and see the dam/sire...so I will tell you what I did today. Im still not sure about what I'm going to do everyone had great points, but I guess that it is going to be up to how I feel about the breeder. Is she dedicated to her yorkies? Is she shady? How she answers my questions? What her yorkies look like? What her house look like and where she keeps her pets/pups? And just use my common sense! I'm willing to wait for the right pup/breeder. That is my main concern...I don't want to go with the wrong breeder. Well I went to the house today of the breeder and it went great! She seemed nice but not desperate to make a sale. I met one of her pups (she was too small @ 2.5lbs for what I am looking for) the breeder was so great she answered all my questions and had a contract and family tree of the sire/dame. As soon as I walked in she got the future mom and pop so I could see them. Then showed me photos of their grandparents and parents, cousins...At one point it was hard to keep up with the relations and who was who. The boy or sire was so gorgeous! He was not the typical blue and gold but he had dark chunks of hair that was on his face and they were so well tempered. I was so impressed with the breeder that it is worth the wait. I really feel happy with my decision to wait for the perfect girl...instead of jumping into something that I'm not sure of. meaning I trust the breeder b/c she has breed w/ my current yorkie breeder and b/c she was recomended by my vet. She said that she would call me when she found out that the female was pregnant. She also said that after the pups are 3 weeks old she will contact me to let me know that all is well and the pups are here. I asked her what would happen if two females are not in the litter and she said that she is expecting another litter from a different yorkie which, she doesnt usually sell, and would give me a female from her litter if one is not aval. She even wrote it in the contract...her idea! Now I have to think of a girl name that goes with Bailey, any ideas? FINALLY, i will not be the only girl in the house!!! (i have 2 sons and a husband..AKA for 3rd child) Last edited by tbradley; 07-28-2005 at 07:30 PM. |

| glad it all went well, did you give her a deposit is that why she signed a contract? On the contract did she put a time limitation waiting for the female and is your deposit refundable if she can not produce one to your liking and needed size in a timely manner? Since you said the sire is very dark in the face how about "Brandy" for your impending female
