Yup, as the Placenta starts to come down the cord will get longer and you will be able to tie it off and separate the puppy from Fancy. In the meantime, keep the puppy warm, just lay a little cloth over it, and wait. I assume the puppy isn't in any distress?

we have 3 girls..I called the vet and she said that I could clamp it with my finger and then cut it....two were born back to back!!!!!!

If she will stand up, you can gently run both hands down her sides and feel. I think puppies feel more like a long folded sock, and the uterus feels more like a little ball. Anyone else on this??

Yeah, I was sure that mine was going to have more pups after she was done before, but it was just her uterus contracting. Sometimes its hard to tell if you havent felt it before.

Hey Niki, I've got to go pickup my granddaughter -- feel terrible having to leave in the middle of things. But you are doing so well! Can't wait to hear about the other two.

we have a boy....there was alot of green with him but I called the vet and they said that everything is ok that it is completely normal...
