Ok for some reason my post got deleted when I tried to edit, so I'll type it again.

Diva is doing great and so are her babies. They are growing like weeds.

I have some really horrible news though. Yesterday my other yorkie Coco was out in the yard with us. My 16 year old daughter went next door to my mother in laws yard to pick blue berries and Coco followed her. Coco loved Shelby so much, she followed her everywhere. Shelby got distracted for a split second by a birds nest in the tree and Coco wandered over into our other neighbors yard. She had barely crossed the property line when their son's pitbull ran over and attacked her. We didn't even know he was their with the dog. We got Coco and rushed her to our local vet who stablilized her broken leg and sent us to the nearest emergency clinic, which for us is 1 and 1/2 hours away in Mandeville LA. Coco was rushed into surgery for broken ribs, and a punctured lung. She died there on the surgery table. Our family is devastated. We lost a little dog that was like a child to us. My daughter is heart broken and blames herself, even though I keep trying to reassure her that it wasn't. It breaks my heart to see my children hurt the way they do over this loss. To be honest with you I just wanted to die myself last night, rather than have to come home and tell my children that Coco was gone. I tried so hard to protect both of my dogs and the one minute I'm not on "alert" I lost her. I just can't explain the sorrow and regrets that I feel at this moment.

I'm crying typing this, so I'm not going to keep going. I just want to tell all of you to hug your babies a little closer today. Love them like tommorrow might not come and just be as careful as you can with these fragile little darlings.

OMG, I am so, so sorry. I am crying too, reading your post. My heart goes out to you, your family, and of course your daughter. May God watch over your family, and your new babies.
Sending you lots of hugs.

yeah her pupppies look cute we just can't afford those prices thats all. I never expected Yorkies to be cheap I just know if I can rescue one I would prefer to actually do that. But the next puppy is up to my husband and we won't be getting until he's back from iraq in april(he leaves sept). It'll most likely be a min pin or another Yorkie.

and by that time I dunno what state we'll be in.. they are talking about moving his squadron out west. but his contract is up months after he gets back from iraq so we're not sure if they will relocate him out west or not. But he has talked about getting another Yorkie. We'll be able to afford the 1k+ whenever he's back from iraq because almost all of that money will be going and staying in our bank account.

My heart aches for you and your family... I am so sorry this has happened to you. I understand what you mean when you speak of the constant alertness you have with these babies. I will pray that your daughter's guilt she is carrying will go away....Its so traumatic to lose one of our babies much less the burden of guilt. God bless you and comfort you.

Default Update on Lacy's Puppies

My Lacy had her puppies early this morning. She had 2 boys and 2 girls. The puppies and mommy are doing great. In fact, they are probably doing better than I am because I sat up all night, ha.

Also want to express the sadness I feel for the loss of your little Coco. I am praying for you and your family.

My poor Daisy, she looks so miserable! We are in FL & the weather here is sooo hot!! But at least we have a pool with a wheel chair ramp, and she can walk into the pool up to her head to cool off. It's really the cutest thing ever!!

Thanks to everyone that replied to my earlier questions. I have a couple more.

1. In the area I'm in, FL. Do I still need to use a warming pad for the puppies? I've been told I didn't need one.

2. What's the best way to trim her hair on her sides and belly? Should I use clippers and do it myself, or take her to my groomers? I'm a little worried about that.

3. Is it good to take her on walks at night? She seems to like it, but don't want to over do it with her.

Thanks again for all the support!!

p.s.
Anyone in the FL or east cost area, I'm looking for a someone I can connect up with during the whelping, a mentor or just someone I can call if I need help
awwe I wish I was in fl. but I was only there for a couple of weeks during the week of springbreak and my 21st b-day(celebrated my b-day with my husband back home though). I was in jacksonville, cocoa beach and I can't remember the name of the town my now ex friend lives in it was more central fl. you need to live in va beach.. then I'd be over all the time to play with them and the woman who runs the beach yorkies could help you out on the babies.

My Lacy came close to Maddie's timing. She had her 4 puppies in 1 hour. I like it when they pop them out one right after the other. Some of my moms always seem to take a break after the first two.
