| new member Hi I am a new member. I have a 2 yo spayed female named Chanel and a 9 mos old female Lily. I got Chanel from a local breeder-smart puppie pets in Beverly,MA. I noticed someone was asking about this breeder and I very highly recommend her for she has all the qualitiies of a great breeder. Anyway when I wanted to get another yorkie for many reasons and one being that I wanted to try breeding I could not afford one locally and had met people that bought from different places around the country and turned out well. So I found Lily in MO. Lily's coat is coarse and she is shedding! Does anyone have any input into why she is shedding? |

| My first guess would be that she's a cross breed. Without seeing pictures of her or knowing where she came from.

| I have suspected that my yorkie could have been cross bred but the breeder sold her to me as a purebred. Her registration states she is yorkie. I do not know if I can tolerate shedding and she can be quite aggressive. Sometimes she just attacks my older yorkie and sometimes she growls at my kids when they are holding her. We are working on these behavior problems. The breeder needs to be held accountable. Has anyone heard of apreciouspuppy? That is where we got her. |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I've never heard of this, since yorkies do not have an undercoat, and therefore do not shed like many other breeds do.

| Personally I would be much more concerned about her agressive tendencies than her shedding. A dog with this nature should never be used for breeding, they can and will pass on those traits to their puppies.

| If you got her in MO from a breeder with multiple breeds and mixes, she probably came from a puppymill. MO is a huge puppymill state. My yorkie has a coarser coat and it breaks off easier...maybe what you are seeing is a lot of hair breakage and not actual shedding? In any case, please do not breed an aggressive dog. And please don't breed a yorkie with a coarse coat...I get so frustrated that my dog's hair won't grow like it should...the coat is part of what makes a yorkie what it is.
