| Parti vs. Brewier... Are Parti's and Brewiers the same thing? Or, are they different? |

| You'll find tons using the search but the short answer is partis are the american version and classified as yorkies. Biewers are their own established breed from Germany.

| Thanks!! My friend told me the same thing, but I just wanted a second opinion :-) She's originally from Germany. We're thinking of having her Mom bring over a Brewier yorkie on her next trip out to the states in 09'. Thanks!! |

YT Addict | They are not the same. Partis have their tail docked, and can have the colors on them anywhere in any combination. Biewers don't have tail docked and have the colors in a specific location. Biewers are a seperate breed and are registered in the rare breeds. Partis are just a color variation of the yorkie. |

Supposedly they will have freckles (ticking) on their belly and roof of their mouth and they will have white on them somewhere as an adult. The only sure way to tell though is probably to know that your pup came from a parti parent. | |

| Well this is the breeder section so she's in the right place.

| it is my understanding that DNA tests can prove if pure yorkie or parti....that reason being that biewers and parti's carry the pie bald gene.....my breeder said that a parti is from a standard yorkie and biewer breeding...but instead of throwing a standard yorkie with the pie bald gene they throw one that actually looks like the biewer....the ones that look like the biewer are called the parti yorkie....it is still a splitter just like my Smokey is...his sire is a biewer and his dam is a standard yorkie...he is a blue/gold with the parti gene....he had 3 brothers and one sister just like him....and one sister that was a parti....i hope that helps some....i am still learning this stuff ....it was confusing to me to hear it from my breeder so i had her write it down....after many times reading it over it started to make since.....same as with mixed raced human families...where 1 kid looks like daddy and 1 looks like mommy

| Biewers are bred to a standard and can be shown in ARBA, IABCA, and NAKC. They are to have white legs, belly and tip of tail. A parti Yorkie is actually against the yorkie standard, as white is a fault. partis cannot be shown. A parti might only have the white bib and no other white. |
