| Hormones My Babygirl is prego. Her and Owie were the best of buds, but lately she's horrible, she goes after him for no reason. It's bad. Poor Owie, he looks at me like what did I do, why does she hate me? I have to keep them seperated. Is this normal? She truly is worse than a woman. She even goes after my older dog. someone please tell me this will end after she has pups. |

| when is she due? and how old is she? Is she a first time mommy? Most new mommies do not want any other pets around when they are ready to have thier puppies. In fact, she could really hurt him (or even kill him) if she feels like her babies are threatened. If she is due any time, I would think that is why she is reacting like that. You will need to keep them seperated not only for the puppies protection, but for his as well.

| It does seem a little early for the motherly instict to be kicking in, but her body is going thru lots of changes right now and I am sure her hormones are getting the best of her.

| In 12 years of raising Yorkies I have never had a female attack a male, not even when they are pregnant. I have had females fight amongst each other. How big is your female and male? I did hear one time about a female dog killing a small stud dog when the female was in heat and the owner of the female left her alone with the stud dog that was a loaner. I am sure it is just a hormonal thing but it is wise to keep them apart. She will probably be even more protective after the pups are born. |

| Well I won't tell U it will end after she whelps her puppies cause it didn't end with Tiffanies' last litter, she got worse, she really never went after our males while she was pregnant...But she had 6 with her last litter and we also just adopted Sage and we had 10 Yorkies at that time so it could of been a combo of all of the above. So I don't know if it was all the above or just her harmones not adjusting right after whelping...I'd keep them seperate till after she whelps and not let either dog around her or her puppies for U think she's after them now look out after she whelps and has newborns, they are more protective then. I wait till our babies are around 6 weeks old before I allow daddy to see our puppies. Just my OPO tho Lee |
