I could not watch it either. It made my stomach upset to even think of it. :sickie:  I know it is part of the breed but it is so sad. :cry2: |

This is why I am not cut out to be a breeder... |
I dock all tails on day 3! |
OMG! I could never do that to a poor little baby puppy! I'm so glad I didn't know that they did that or my yorkie would have a long tail cause I'd tell them not to hurt him! |
Ok, the pup is now 4 days old. I finally got a hold of my breeder to do the tail/dewclaws. But she can't do them until tomorrow, 5 days old. My vet said that he can do it today. Would it be ok to wait for the breeder or go to the vet? Thanks! |
I have done them on day 5 before with no problem but I would certainly go no longer than that. |
That clamp and twist looks better than cutting it.I think I can do that:thumbup: Now if it does bleed guys what do you put on it? And the dews if they will not stop? |
Clotisol is the best blood stop product that I have ever used. I buy it at Revival Animal Health Products. |

I also clamp dewclaws. The only time I have them bleed is if there is a piece of the bone left down in there and I have to pull it out. Then, I either use silver nitrate sticks or a dab of flour. Yes... flour. |

All this sounds like torture! Poor Babies! |
My puppy is getting her tail docked & dewclaws removed today! Wish us luck! :) |
Please consider leaving tails intact. This is more acceptable in the US now. And docking is now PROHIBITED in most of Europe, including England, the Yorkies' country of origin. |
We got the tail docked, pup did great! Got the dewclaws removed too. Thanks for everyone's help!!! |
