My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Ok.....I found this: Temperature Continue to monitor the mothers temperature. The temperature of her body works as a tool to indicate if she has an infection. Your bitch's temperature dropped right before she went into labor and now should rise to 101 to 103. Any temperature reading above 103 is abnormal. This indicates an infection somewhere in her body. Many of the infections can be deadly to your dog, and should be taken seriously. My vet always told me the same thing - anything 103 and above...call him! I just wanted some reassurance. Maceys's is 102.2. She's drinking lots, eating, peeing and pooping. I think she's ok. All the placentas were accounted for. My vet is out of town |

| I give mine after they whelp 1 cc. of Penicillin just to make sure there is no infection . Sound's like your little girl is doing just fine and she is eating and drinking . My Vet. says 101 and 102 is normal .Congratulation on your new litter.

| Anything over 102 my vet wants to see them especially with any other symptoms panting pacing uneasiness etc... Normal to be up to 102 the first week though then it should come back down to the 101 range. Maybe just hot from the heating pad and having pups. Last edited by 011011; 04-26-2008 at 07:00 PM. |

| After Ruby had her pups she started panting and basically hasn't stopped. The vet checked her, temp normal, and said she was just working hard to produce all that milk.
