The owner of the picture has contacted Ultimate Puppies at least five times in an effort to have the picture removed from their site. Apparently she has been aware of the use already. They know full well that they are using it without her permission and simply don't care. This is why all pictures should be watermarked for ownership before posting to the web. Thanks again to all concerned.

As the owner of the picture, she could take legal action. I'd have a lawyer write up something formal and send it. It might be enough to make them take it down.

I just spoke to the owner of the picture and the lawyer is going to contact the site owner tomorrow on her behalf. We'll have to wait and see how it comes out. She did say that they out right claim to have sold her the puppy. Wow, that takes some nerve.

Well the good news is Ultimate Puppies has removed the picture from their site. The bad news is I may have to also remove it from my site. Of course if the owner of the picture asks me to I will comply, collateral damage I suppose. Friendships are more important than endorsements. But hey, I still have the picture and my kids still think it's cool.

I, on the other hand, remain radioactively uncool.
