botched neutering Help. Has anyone heard of this??? I have 4 yorkies, 2 male and 2 females. The oldest male and female have both been fixed. The male is yorkie pom and the female is yorkie poo. The two little ones haven't. Little girl get pregnant, has one puppy who is totally blonde and white. As little puppy grows, he begins to look like a pom. I have never believed that her litter mate could have gotten her pregnant. He has one testicle and is so shy and timid, and actually afraid of her as she is quite a diva. Nonetheless, she has a puppy. I have assumed that her littermate was the dad. Now, as puppy turns into a pom, I am not so sure. Is it possible to botch a neutering? BTW, the male who was "fixed" has never stopped marking, running away, humping his stuffed animal etc. Opinions please?

Ok, so you have a yorkie pom male, a yorkie poo female, and 2 purebred yorkies (one male and one female) who are brother and sister. Your standard yorkie female got pregnant, and you assumed her brother impregnated her. But now you're wondering if it was your yorkie pom, who has been neutered, because the puppy she had is looking more like a pom than a yorkie. Is that right? Or am I confused too?

Can I ask if your neutered male is missing a couple of jewels in his treasure chest? Tammy

That'd be a sure sign of a botched neutering thats for sure! Perhaps the vet was dislexic and neutered the female and spayed the male Sorry, all joking aside... I *think* you are saying your unaltered male has only one testicle and so you assumed he was sterile because of this? If thats the case, I would think, just like with any adult person, that even if one testicle is undecended, you can still be fertile, you might just have some fertility issues like slow sperm count, etc. If they are both purebred, there could be a chance that they are parti-carriers and that they made a parti pup. Or....a neighbor dog couldve gotten in the back yard. OR, if you had your dog groomed while she was in heat, something couldve happened at the groomers, that happened on this forum not too long ago I believe. There are a lot of things that could've happened. Can you post a pic of the pup?

his family jewels certainly don't look like they did before the neutering but there is still something there. I thought it was scar tissue.....
