| What is the largest litter? You have ever heard of for a Yorkie? I have been seeing quite a few litters of 7 lately, and that just seems huge.

| That is a very large litter...I have heard of 9! Our Quaker was 1 of 8...all made it...6 girls and 2 boys! The largest litter we have had is 4...I do not think I would like to see more than 5 for one of these little dogs. My favorite litter size is 2...so much fun to raise 2 at a time!

| Our Penny had six in her last litter and she was 7 lbs. She is now fixed, because it was a bit difficult for her and we did not want to take the chance that she would have such a large litter again and jeopardize her health. All six puppies are happy and healthy. All other past litters have been four puppies. |

| There was a post here several months ago where a yorkie had 10 puppies. Don't know if all made it though. I've heard of a lot of litters of 6, some of 7 recently. |

| My female is from a litter of 8 and the litter prior to hers was also 8. As far as I know, all 16 made it. Her mother was above standard size, though. She was 9 lbs and dad was 5 lbs. |

| I think the largest litter I have ever heard of from a STANDARD size yorkie is 7. Brooke and Hadley have both had litters of 6, they're 6 and 6.5 lbs. |

| One of my first litters was a litter of 8. The mom weighed 7-8 pounds. It was extremely hard! Whelping was a cinch, I just had to try to catch them fast enough for her. They were each soooo tiny being so many. She had just enough teats for each pup. After a week, I'd just lay her flat and put them in a line on each side of her for dinner time. At first I really had to be there to be sure everyone got a teat. Very consuming and physically exhausting! Needless to say, no more 8 pound moms for me lol. So much easier with 2 or 3. |

| Wow 9! This is the first time I have heard of it. We were so in shock that our Jolie' 7lb was suppose to be having 5....and then when she was delivering it ended up being 7! It is alot to have 7, I would have prefered 2 so i could spoil them. I do lots of things with the 7 we have right now....but we are so busy trying to mak sure we give equal attention.
