Probably just adrinelin let down. I asked my vet about Remi's little shaking spells. He said small dogs do that when their bodies are under stress. Keep an eye on her temp and as long as she's eating well and getting her calcium she should be okay. If you observe weakness, quaking, or a change in temp. notify your vet.

Was your water cold,many reasons they can shake.Pain from the uterus contracting cold from drinking the pudding after being in the fridge or cool water,after effects from labor,eclampsia,low blood sugar etc .SOmetimes we have to look at the whole picture and not just one symptom. That was a fast delivery for so many babies you are lucky.Mine seem to draw out at times for just 2 or 3. Thanks Tami for posting that quickly for her

Sorry I'm answering this so late! I didn't get your PM until now!! Congrats on all SEVEN babies!! Poor Ruby, no wonder she was groaning and not moving much...lol

1. Kimberly told me about the benebac, but I gave it to mine when they were a few days old. I think you can give it before.

2. They should all have fat full bellies...you should probably place EACH puppy on a nipple one by one and make sure they're strong enough to latch on and to nurse and they do for several minutes. If you have one who barely latches you may have to supplement. If you notice over a few hours that one of them cries a lot or doesn't have a full belly, you need to supplement. Or if you just KNOW that one is weaker than the others, you should supplement. It never HURTS to do 2 or 3 of the smaller ones anyways. If they're nursing, I would only do it every 4-5 hours. If they're NOT nursing, every 2 hours. Don't worry about weighing them again today...they may actually drop a little from their original birth weighs, especially with that many.

3. I always give each one a drop after I clean them up. Then I give them each a drop twice a day, once in the AM and once in the PM.

Ok...little side note...ummm, Hadley's babies are VERY VERY active today...moving around kicking like crazy. And she is having quite a bit of discharge and not eating very much. This may happen sooner than May 6th...

Ruby stopped shaking after I fed her some more food (cottage cheese, calcium and chicken). I think her blood sugar was low. Temp normal. All behavior back to normal. Yeah!

After working all day, I just got the last little boy and girl to nurse for the first time. After talking with Kim I'd tried for quite awhile unsuccessfully. So I supplemented the three tinies with about 2-3 ml. esbilac. When Linda came over, two had started nursing on their own. None have been crying, but I was afraid they wouldn't cry and would just fade. All babies seem quiet right now.

What a day.

Her 57th day is April 30th...that's about a week or so from now, right? Maybe she'll go that day? She could go earlier and they would be ok...her breeding/ties were complicated...I"ll explain later after they're born...

Hmmm we'll see...maybe! I just think it's strange how much they're moving around...I think it would be a little early for them to be moving this much if they didn't come until May 6th. Of course, just because I said that she'll prove me wrong...

Maybe so...she did have 6 last time. But I would rather her go earlier, so she and Lola will be further apart. Hadley is officially due on the 6th, Lola on the 8th. You just watch, they'll both go into labor at the same time...

O.k Sweetie is still here fooling around . she is in her box all the time...I kindda see that she is not as restless as before but hasn't been able to lay comfortable and is streching a lot. Her temp for tonight is 98.6 . also her belly is harder than ever.........but I don't think she will have them tonight.
