Afterbirth here, and I think she is done. Just one small lump in her stomach, way high up. Don't think it is a puppy, but will watch.

Now to get everyone nursing!!! The whelping pudding worked great!

Okay I have some questions:

1. When do I give the Benebac?

2. I'll weigh them again in a couple hours, but is there anything else I can do to make sure they are getting a chance to nurse? How long do I wait before I intervene with a supplement.

3 When do I give the Nutri-Drops??

Wow, 7 puppies in exactly 2 hours. Wow.

so I had to enrolled her in the nursing classes for training as she awaits for her babies.:D:D

Now it's your turn. Your baby looks like she is ready to pop. She is adorable. Best wishes.

Ladyhawk 04-21-2008 11:22 AM

I'm glad Remi isn't due until the 26th so we're not in the middle of this pack. Of course, if some of you gals don't go soon it will be close. We've got some big litters here, that's alot of pups to place. We're only suppose to be having 4, that's enough for me.

katelin 04-21-2008 11:44 AM

Come on girls -- Sweetie and Destiny, you girls are DUE! Give up those puppies.:D

lovelilly 04-21-2008 11:49 AM

Ruby wait to go!!!! 7 babies  Lilly is busy with five... Ruby you are going to need a nanny = ) Good job girl... we knew you could do it!!! :D

katelin 04-21-2008 11:49 AM

Ruby's babies are all warm and dry and lined up like little piggys at the trough.

I'll be moving over to Ruby's Nursery thread, but hope you'll all come visit. I'll be keeping watch over each of you as well. Thank you soooo much for the joy this thread has brought me.

I really learned a lot too. I'd never heard of Nutri-drops or Benebac. I'm sure with this huge litter I'll be very glad to have them. I'll be back here if there is any problem, because I know this is where I'll find the very best advice from some very special people. Thanks again. ;)

I do love to get bios and pictures from my owners! Denali's litter just had their first birthday and I sent out email cards. It's so fun hearing back from them. The market is flooded and it's getting harder to place our angels. I held two back for show from Teddi's last litter and just placed one in a show home yesterday. After 6 months it was so hard to let go. At least I'll be seeing her in the show ring.
This will be Remi's last litter, I already have a pet home waiting for her. Retiring your gals gets really emotional too!

Today is 63 days from Ruby's 3rd tie! Go figure. My little guy just jumped the gun a little. Its Ruby's fault though. She let him. (tsk, tsk).

Yep..I agree with Tami
We can offer a lot with us just having our litters.
I'm sure they'll be happy us posting.
I may not be there as often as I was here.
But I will be there :D

lilstar63100 04-21-2008 02:23 PM

well i definately think ill check out the may litters thread.. but with no litters involved its harder to get into it i guess. :-/
hopefully everyone on here will keep us all updated on how all their babies are doing as they start growing up!

Ladyhawk 04-21-2008 02:28 PM

The nursery will definitely be full! I'll be in the May thread as well because Connor can run faster than mom can. He and Teddi tied on the 15th day of her cycle because he's really quick when he gets down to business. Teddi was suppose to have a break but she's very small this time so I'm not expecting more than 1 or 2 pups. By day 15 I don't think that many of the eggs were still viable. Teddi is due on the 6th of May.

NanaDtreasures 04-21-2008 02:29 PM

Hugs...

A lot of FUN in this thread.
And you know if more of YT was like this thread it would be sooo great.
Sadly thats not what some want.
I appealed many times over the last few months to please stop and think before you type.
We have had a great time...because that didn't happen here.
We've worried...joked around and just had a great time.
I think also..that at a certain point.
IF...someone had come in here attacking us for breeding. they would have been suspended if not banned.
We've had our own SAFE little place here.
And I thank the adm. and Mod's for just letting us go.
Cause we've certainly been off topic at times.
So if they're reading this Thank you ~!
What fun we've had..and its not over yet~!
Hugs all around ladies....

Help Please --ruby Again....

Hi all,

I want to thank Kim and Linda for coming to my rescue today. They were both great, and Linda even came to my house to see their little tummys first hand. Thanks.

Next question: Ruby drank a large amount of water, and had whelping pudding and some boiled chicken. Then she just started shivering all over and this has been going on for maybe 10 minutes. Cause for alarm, low blood sugar.....what???

Probably just adrinelin let down. I asked my vet about Remi's little shaking spells. He said small dogs do that when their bodies are under stress. Keep an eye on her temp and as long as she's eating well and getting her calcium she should be okay. If you observe weakness, quaking, or a change in temp. notify your vet.

katelin 04-21-2008 03:49 PM

Thanks...I'll take her temp right now. (and she thought she was done with that).
