| Proof of Spay/Neuter I want to sell my puppies with a spay/neuter contract. What do you get from the buyer as proof of spay/neuter? Thanks! |

| Way to go Have you thought about having them spayed/neutered before you send them to their new homes? that's going to be your best bet in making sure they really do get altered. I know some breeders require proof of spay/neuter from a vet before they release papers...but some people will breed anyway and register with one of the off-registries. My cat's breeder has in her contract that if the contract is violated, buyer ownes x amount of money and cat and all offspring can be reclaimed by the breeder.

| We sent the puppies home with a certificate that needs to be filled out and signed by the vet. They also have to give the vet permission to verify to us that they dog was altered on the phone. Once this is done...then we mail them their AKC limited registration papers. So far (knock on wood and cross my fingers) we have been lucky and everyone has followed through with their end of the deal, but then again we really get to know our buyers before they get their new babies, most of them we have been talking to for months before the get their baby. If the puppies are older when they leave here, then we alter them first.
