| Keeping AKC Records...How Do U Keep U'res? I have kept all records on all our Yorkies, I have them printed out and in file folders under say "Tiffanies' 1st Litter, date whelped and how many whelped and so on" I'm wanting to update them and get a good system going before breeding Sage and Sir. Galahad. Can I ask how U Show and Not Show Breeders keep U're records? Do U keep them on U're computer, then back it up by cd? Do U keep them on paper only? Do U do a Spread sheet like? If so can I ask what do U have in it? Do U Show Breeders keep track of every show U're adopted show babies win? I have the AKC papers printed out of all we should have in record keeping, just wondering how U all do it and if there is more that U keep besides what AKC says to keep. Thanks for any help on this matter. |

| AKC requires you to keep a Dog Ownership Record for each dog you own. You can click on the link below, download the form and print it off. The only other thing that is required is that all Litter Records must be up to date. If AKC does a home visit these are the only two forms of record keeping they will want to see. http://www.akc.org/pdfs/DogRecord.pdf AKC also has some online record keeping available but that is optional. |

| I use the AKC record keeping program. But, it clearly states that you can't just keep records on your computer. You have to keep a hard copy as well. So after I'm done updating, I simply print it off and exchange it for what I have in that particular dog's folder.
