LOL I am glad that everything went well and that you were able to save the last puppy. Way to go .... I look forward to the pictures and information ( weight etc... ) |

| thanks everybody! yes last night was a very long night. i took pictures but i guess i was to tired and forgot to post them! Boy#1 came at 1am weighing 5.25oz Boy#2 came at 1:30am weighing 5.6oz Girl #1 came at 2:57am weighing 5.6oz Girl#2 came at 3:07am weighing 5.1i almost missed her posting here! And my little man Boy #3 came at 4:05am weighing 4.7oz he was in the horn for to long. i think Troy was just tired and she wouldn't let me help her at first. he was coming feet first. then she just gave up. 3 paws were out. and she stopped pushing so i reached up in there and pulled the other paw down and then he came on out. but i knew it was too long. he was gasping. i sucked out a lot of fluid. and gently but vigorous rubbing. and it was like Troy knew something was wrong cause she just let me do what i had to do. i started getting nervous cause i didn't think he would make it. i actually started praying. i knew i it wouldn't be good for me if i lost one. 2 of my kids had awaken when she had started pushing out the last one. i knew i didn't want to lose this puppy in front of them so i kept working on him. i told the kids to go get hubby. he was not any help but there to make me feel better to encourage me to keep trying. then all the sudden when i was about to give up he let out a LOUD cry! i was like thank you Jesus!!! so hes doing very well now as well as mom and the others. they are all eating/sleeping now. now how do i go about getting everything cleaned up. should i give Troy a bath now or later. i already changed the bedding. should i wait for her to got eat then weigh them again? when i went to go check on them they were on the other end sleep with the heating pad and as soon as she saw me she jumped in my lap! po thing!

| Congratulations on your new babies. Good job Momma! I would not give her a bath just yet. If you feel she really needs it, when the babies are asleep, fill a pot with warm water and gently wash her with a washcloth. Try not to get her too wet. Towel dry her and if needed, blow dry her as best you can. You do not want to get her too wet so the babies don't get chilled. If she keeps trying to leave her whelping box to follow you, you may need to lay there with her for a day or two. Once her milk comes in good, she should stay with them better. Good luck and congratulations again.

| Congrats on the beautiful babies! Sounds like you both did great. Now if Ciara would just get down to business. I thought she was going in to labor early this morning. She was having contractions, but they stopped. Do dogs have false labor? |

| What a great story, and a happy ending! Congrats to all of you. I had a female who did nothing to her puppies but feed them. She wanted to be with me where ever I was and wouldn't stay with the puppies. I put a heating pad in the bed (half only so they can crawl off if too warm), and just let Kizzie mother them in her own way. They all grew up just fine. My other mothers can hardly be separated for the first couple weeks. You can never tell until they have their own puppies. I bathed Coco about 3 days after the puppies were born. I just stood her up in our utility sink and sprayed her from the middle down. Just a quick shampoo and rinse with nice warm water. Then towel off and finish with a hair dyer. The puppies are now 4 weeks old and she had had one other complete bath in this time. I really empathize with you and your struggle with your last little boy. I've been through that before too and it is very frightening. So glad that he came through just fine. Best wishes to all Katelin Coco, Ruby, Bizzy Bee, Jersey and puppies Webster, Windsor, Wizard and Wellington |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Gosh, these mama's need to start having their pups during the day/evening when I am awake to be there! I was one of the lucky few that had a female have her puppies during the day. Sounds like everything went pretty well & fairly quickley for you and the new mama. I am so glad that you were able to revive the last puppy. They are all so cute. Well, I'm off to see more pictures in the nursery........ CONGRATULATIONS!
