the advise from some very experienced breeders have giving you advise to just sit back and learn before you jump into this. this is probably the best advise you have been given. but since you do not like this advise, you will ignore it and go about doing what you are going to do. so with that being said, why would we give you any more advise if you are just going to ignore the best advise you have been given? |
I was always told bright red blood, not ready, no blood, fertile. |
But you're supposed to count the days when the blood starts. |

:thumbs up :yeahthat: Agree 100%! Generally speaking, for me it's not only that, but I don't generally make a habit out of supporting something I don't agree with, nor do I encourage or coach or advise people if I don't agree with their breeding ethics. I would never encourage anyone who has done little to no reasearch to put their dogs' lives at risk nor would I help them by advising them on how to do so...even if they are going to do it regardless. |
I just re-read "Sticky: The Breeder Talk Section! Why It Is Here" and I obviously interpret it differently that others. Admin, please accept my apologies. |
I've sat on my fingers long enough LOL...yes this is the same person that bought breeding females and had them outside...obiviously this person isn't going to take advice that she doesn't agree with and take the offensive approach to our answers, so, with that said......I refuse to help "backyard breeders" it goes against my ethics and especially when one is not at least trying to take advice from responsible and ethical breeders! I wash my hands of this person! Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

To the OP - it really seemed like you had listened to some of the advice given...you were even asking about health screening and costs. I just hope you'll sit this one out (and not allow any "accidents" to happen) and learn more and find out about the health of your dogs before you consider breeding. I really hope you take the advice given here. Please breed responsibly |

To be honest, I wouldn't even consider breeding these dogs because it doesn't sound like you have their history. What if one of their great grandparents had a liver shunt? That isn't going to show up by testing the parents but the puppies could still end up with this problem. For the sake of the dogs, please health screen, STUDY THE LINES and make sure they are standard before going any farther. |

PLEASE take this advice. I just got back from the vet after spending $375. to find out my 9 month old girl has Leggs Perthes, now she will have to undergo a painful surgery and long recovery because of a breeder that did not screen her dogs. The surgery will cost me more than I paid for her, which I don't care about, I just want her to stop hurting. The heart ache I feel right now could have been prevented. Learn the history of your breeding stock, PLEASE. |

To the OP...You will receive both very passionate postive and negative responses in an open forum. Please read with care and be a responsible breeder. Make sure you do your back ground research, proper health screening, and blood work before jumping into anything. To be a responsible breeder means going the extra mile to make sure you are producing healthy, happy puppies without genetic faults. I know you would want to better the breed and make sure you are following the true standard!! |
