Maltese must have smaller litters. Four is a large litter. 2-3 is normal, but singletons aren't that unusual.

Well the xrays are never DEFINITE...he said he saw 5 clear, probably a 6th one hiding under another one, and maybe a 7th on the other side.

Baby number FIVE is out!! Another girl, and another 4.8 ouncer.

She's a pretty little thing!!

I listened with my stethescope...I hear one more heartbeat...and it's slower, so I bet it's a girl.

It's looking like there's going to be 6 babies!!

I'll update when the last one is out!

(And have more pics of course!)

Whooooo this last one is taking FOREVER...he/she is just hanging out down by the pelvis area, I was just sitting and listening to the heartbeat. COME ON BROOKIE PUSSHHHH!!

No, I know she's tired, bless her heart...she's doing the best she can...

I got an excellent shot of the last little girl moving down the birth canal though!

And then two pictures of tired mommy and the first 5 babies a few minutes ago...

Yeah that was #5...still waiting on #6...just listened to her heartbeat again and stimulated a few contractions...nothing yet. The others are nursing so maybe that will get her started again. She's almost there!!

The last puppy didn't make it...

I'm not sure what happened, I could hear a clear heartbeat. Anyways, I called my mentor and she advised to go ahead and give the oxytocin, so I did and still no pup. It's been over 4 hours since the last pup, so I think I'll retire and head to bed. They're all doing well and nursing, and Brooke is finally resting. I can tell she feels a TON better right now...haha

I'm moving over to the nursery right now to post pics and start a thread, then heading to bed. Talk to you guys tomorrow! Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes, they were greatly appreciated!!
