Hopefully, it's just false pregnancy. I'm glad you were careful once you found out she was in heat. Everyone makes mistakes. Please keep us posted. |
I will keep fingers crossed that she's just fooling you and they never actually got together. |

Not that I would encourage anyone to breed that young ever, but I am sure wild dogs breed on their first heat since there is no one to keep them separated. Not saying that you should try to do that, but in nature it happens and it turns out ok, its just not ideal. I imagine it would be very hard to keep them apart. I got very lucky with my Lola in that with her first heat cycle at 8 months old she would not let Joe anywhere near her. She would flat out snap at him for even trying. She ended up having a false pregnancy too. She felt like she was filling with milk, and stayed swollen down there for a long time. For awhile I was afraid that the snuck in a breeding, but they didnt. So you may have gotten lucky. Its so hard to keep male dogs away when a girl is in heat. At least a big neighbor dog didnt break in your back yard and get to her! Keep us posted! Babies are babies, and just like with people, an unplanned pregnancy still produces blessings! |
I want to say that the YT'rs that have responded have been very kind and supportive on this particular thread and its heated topic. I am a believer that accidents do happen. All a part of life. My question would be if her pelvis isn't ready or strong enough for delivery would it be a C-section then? or would the vet advise a abortion? Just a question.. |
No need to beat yourself up or let others. Accidents happen. If you didn't see them tie(I didn't see it posted), maybe it is a false pregnancy. Let us know. Good luck, Susan |

I understood that they were supposed to only bleed for like maybe the first 10 days at most, but she kept right on bleeding. I was beginning to think it was going to go on forever. I was about ready to call the vet, when it stopped. I just figured there could be exceptions, like people. |
