I'll say this...I am not opposed to someone making money. My concern will be solely limited to purchasing a puppy from someone whose breeding program entails everything I am seeking. Will I pay an additional amount to obtain it...yes and fully expect to. I agree to some degree YT offers a false sense of security. Comes to back to....the same lecture....know your breeder. |

Your best bet is to attend some shows. Introduce yourself, explain your goals and ask for help and guidance. And take the initiative to educate yourself as much as you can without waiting on them. (Not that you are not/have not already.) |

I won't sell on full registration and I'm reputable Donna |
I know USDA requires dogs to be in a seperate building. They are also categorized in clubs as commercial breeders and won't be accepted. Many people automaticaly scream puppymill. Many puppymills are USDA licensed. But that's painting with a very broad brush. I'm against stereotyping period even in the yorkies world. There's always someone or a group that'll prove you wrong. |
I can ask $1500 because the local pet stores are selling yorkies for 23 to 25 hundred with NO PAPERS or history. I will get that price, everyone wants a little Mya. She is so mellow. I am lucky that I found a Sire that has the same no need to bark attitude. |
I wouldn't doubt that coming to this site will and has made "some" become breeders...because they think there is a buck to be made and friends to be had. I am just as offended by people who decide to breed thier pet just because they can, and wonder what they are thinking  Good information is here though, think long and hard, buyer beware! |
No papers, no problem for me. Quote:

I have never met a breeder (and I have Met alot) That has made money on what they do. If the did really I would not want to know them.... |
This is definately interesting reading and a debate at most. But if a breeder says and has the paperwork of their testing are you still supposed to imply or think that it is falseified? And how come someone that is a stay at home mom or wife can't breed yorkies if it is in fact to better the breeds standards? How do you know that her husband provides well enough that she doesnt have to work? Also what you may think is not of quality dog isn't that just an opinion because everyone thinks their dog is the cutiest or the most adorable or handsome? |
