I wasn't meaning to argue, I'm sorry if it came across that way. I certainly agree that most do over-vaccinate. My point was only that the mere fact that a vet in another area doesn't recommend the exact same schedule doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing. What I quoted was directly from the website you referenced. I don't think its untrue to state that the need for certain vaccines varies by area of the country, as her comments make clear. And I didn't say to go with what any vet said, I said the top veterinary experts in your area. I definitely agree that many vets are not up-to-date on current research in this area. (btw, just to clarify, most puppies get the antibodies from the mother, but not all.)

Believe me, I did not think you were arguing and your point was well taken. I appreciate your input. Sometime I get carried away worrying about all the harm that is being done to all the little fur babies by over vaccinating, I really think most people don't realize how serious the problem is.

I agree, most people (and vets) just do it the way its been done for years. Hopefully the next generation of vets will feel differently. (lol probably by the time they are practicing it will have changed again) And there's no better thing to get carried away worrying about than our furbabies!

My breeder didn't get her pups wormed, I didn't know until recently that it was an old wives tale that all pups are born with worms..if the mother dog doesn't have worms, the pups don't have them..when I took mine in for the first set of shots when I got her, no worms...I had the vet worm her anyway just for the heck of it..

I bought some of this but really did not care for it. It is too messy to use in the house. I will be using it outside around my house to see if that will help keep the fleas down. I have never used it internally on my dogs.
