I look at PuppyFind daily and I have found several yorkie websites with the name "Tiny Treasures' so you both would do well to change them and Breny I know you already have and were smart enough to register it this time.

lol yep...I had NO idea that many people had that name!!

I think we both made a good decision!

Yeah I was beginning to see that...how do you register your kennel name? Through AKC?

Just when I SAY no one else will EVER come up with the name "Madaloo" it will sure as s*** happen tomorrow...

Go to AKC web site for regs...there is a list of requirements, first is a history of involvement in AKC events.

You cannot register your kennel name unless you show. At least not thru AKC. I got that info directly from AKC when I called them about my name. What you do is register your website Domain name and that prevents anyone else from being able to have a website with your name.

I know here in Texas you are required to pay sales taxes on any litters you sale. All you have to do is go to your local court house and get a DBA (doing business as) under the kennel name you decide to choose and you will be issued a sales permit. I think that if you do that then no one else could use that name legally but I am not sure if it applies to just the state the permit is issued in or the whole U.S., you might want to check out that possibility.
